Wolves 0-1 Man Utd: Verdict Thread

Yeah I don’t really know what more the manager can do. We’re creating chances, very good chances and not giving any/many up in the process whilst being good to watch. It’s literally everything you’d want. He can’t go and score them himself.

Most goals that are scored can be avoided if someone had done something different.
That's a really pointless statement isn't it? Of course that's true, and if Marcal had defended better Greenwood doesn't score, is this really up for debate? Are we saying that Marcal wasn't at fault/couldn't have done more?

We've missed golden chances and given away soft goals for the last 3 seasons. We are still doing the latter and creating more seems to lead to missing more. You look at goals like Buendia's at the weekend and we must have gotten into that sort of position 8-10 times in each of the last 2 games. Small margins, but not bad luck

It was right in front of me and it was noticeable that everybody stopped after Neves went down.

I think Moutinho also asked for the ball to be put out.

It's the first time I've seen Moutinho raging on the pitch, he waited for Dean to turn his back and booted Pogba from behind clean off his feet, a quite brilliant piece of shithousery.
I wish i'd have seen that! Pogba on his arse...

Dermot Gallagher admitted that the challenge on Trincao by James after the block by a defender on the line, was missed by the ref and VAR and was definitely a foul, i.e. a penalty.

A fat lot of good it does us now, but another reason not to have the same officials again.
It was two footed and a definite red as well as a penalty. After six minutes.

If you are defending, it is your role to block/make it as difficult as possible to stop them shooting/crossing. Marcal failed at that.

As i said earlier, had Coady done the same he'd have got dogs abuse, much like how Doherty used to get criticised for it too as it's Marcal he's getting defended, odd.
I can’t talk for other people. But I tend to make my opinions on what actually happened rather than bias.

You said: “Marcal was so easily beaten, it wasn't skill or speed even that got the space for that shot, Marcal almost just offered him the area to go in, really disappointing”

It’s wrong on so many levels, which I pointed out. It was both speed and skill, he didn’t get beat easily and he made sure he went outside which is a less dangerous position than letting him cut inside onto his left. Also Greenwood is better than Marcal.

Calling that “really dissapointing” is just bizarre. That sort of moment probably happens 10 times a game.

Well i totally disagree, Marcal for me did get easily beaten, he didn't make a challenge, he didn't block the shot, he didn't force him into a position where he was unable to shoot, it was poor defending, a prime objective of a fullback or defender is to stop crosses and shots, he failed, that is "what actually happened".

"Greenwood is better than Marcal"

Right, so that means whenever a defender is up against a player that is "better" that's ok then, what a fucking kop out.

It's become a bit of an inquest! Like someone else said apart from putting the ball in the net we have done everything right. The manager can only put the players out there, and tactically set them up for the team they are playing. He CANNOT make the right decision when they are in front of goal. Only the player can.
That said on any other day we'd have certainly had 2 goals. A double worldie save and a last ditch goal line clearance you just cannot account for.
Also blaming the keeper for losing us the match is insane beyond belief!
We are 3 games in. You cannot even contemplate talking about league postions at this juncture. Let's at least get to 10 games before the jury is out on points gained/lost.
At least everyone is talking about the way we are playing, rather than how turgid we are....

Depends whether they want to use a casual racist epithet that also somehow thinks Hong Kong and South Korea are the same country.
Give over. That's the stupidest thing i've seen you write, and that is saying something...
