It's hard not to over-react to that game negatively.

An incredibly frustrating and disappointing performance to top off an awful result at home. This time round it was some terrible defending to go with the huff and puff attacking.

Lage needs to change the starting lineup around for the next game and not just stick and hope for the best. We have a reasonable enough bench to do that both in defence and attack.

Tough week for the manager and players coming up, and a chance for the benched players to push for a place in the team with a good performance against Spurs in the cup.

I'm fucking pissed so forgive me here, but.

That second half was fucking awful and the way we're playing now no longer looks good, it looks like fucking shit and we don't look like even making a fucking keeper worry at any point, much less score a fucking goal.

What the fuck are we supposed to do?

Never looked like scoring let alone winning. Thomas Frank is a fucking cunt.

Brentford are time wasting cunts
Their manager is a cunt.
But our final ball today was shit. Moutinhos final corner summing it up.

Crossing practice needed on Monday

Xmas came early for them. Marcal was abysmal. We could play all night and not score. Really bad day at the office all round

Brentford are an embarrassment, but they won’t care.

As for us, we played 10 men for half hour and couldn’t get a shot on target against a newly promoted club. For a supposed “attacking side”, that’s obviously not good enough.

Less said about the first half defensive performance the better.

Abysmal performance. Slightly concerned, if I’m honest. I like Bruno, but we just don’t look like scoring and we look suspect at the back. Any side that plays three up against Neves & Moutinho in the middle are going to cause us problems.

venerunt, videcunt, vicerunt (they came, they cunted, they conquered)

To be fair their front two played a blinder today

I've just put the stats up in the first post.

11 shots, not a single one on target....

Would have to disagree that we are no longer playing good.
We created some good chances but our decision making in around the box let us down. Traore could have put it on a plate for Jiminez and Trincao on a load of occasions but kept whipping it over everyone in the box.
Podence and Hwang both created chances and then cut it back into the defenders shins.
We just didnt look sharp in this box - we created more than enough chances to win it so I wouldnt say that we are no longer playing Brunos way. Just poor decision making today

I've seen Adama put in 3 fantastic crosses in that second half, but our forwards either lack the finishing ability (Raul) or the positional intelligence to knock them in.

0-2 against 10 men Brentford. 0 shots on target with 6 attacking players on at the end.
They came and did a job on us. All the cheating and shithousery they came up with, and we could do fuck all about it.
5 games, 4 losses, 1 win. It's not a good look however much our "style" is nice.
Plenty of the season left, but something needs to change, whether it's in their heads or personnel changes.

Hopefully they are getting a Bruno bollocking at the moment.
Fucking pissed me off for the weekend now, particularly as the London bias press will not stop bleating on about "super Brentford" Yawn...

I think we need a poacher in the box...like a Haller type of player, a proper goalscorer that just puts it away in the box..and maybe a van Dijk leader at the back.. :) then we are good to go

Shit show at the back. Gifted them two goals and the three points duly followed.

Still some decent spells at times but once again lacking end product. Think the cup game midweek is coming at the perfect time, decent opportunity to rotate a few and test the alternatives against what is hopefully still a decent standard opponent.

Personally I'd ditch Jimenez, don't see anything so far to suggest dropping him in at the deep end is bringing him back to his best so time to change tack, give him some games off the bench and see how that goes. I'd swap Marcal for RAN too, get a better balance with two wingbacks pushing forward into threatening areas rather than one who just chugs up and down giving freekicks away. Seems a good opportunity to give Boly and/or Mosquera some minutes too, there definitely needs to be change in that back three after today.

While our attacking issues will grab the headlines, the failure to buy a new CM will be the hidden issue that causes more problems. Bruno clearly tried to address the 3v2 issue in the middle by having Hwang as CAM for the second half and - when that did not work - still didn’t consider dendoncker. If (and appreciate this is a big leap/if) Bruno is not fond of dendoncker in the middle then how do we reassert control in games like that where we lose/are losing the midfield?

Disappointing, but not a huge shock. There'll be more games like this to come, Bruno will need hours and hours with this team to mould it into what he wants. We all know what an imbalanced squad It is, it's not gonna change overnight, especially with minimal new personnel.

I hope the players weren't thinking 'it's only Brentford', as we were sloppy and cavalier for large portions of our opening period of dominance. Ridiculous rabonas, worldy attempts by the likes of Adama and Marcal. Just cos you say to the media that you're an offensive, attacking side, doesn't mean you don't have to work for your chances and then put them away. Huge lack of quality.

Stop moaning about Brentford ffs. That's bog standard game management.

Transfer strategy coming home to roost. Massively unbalanced, too much enigmatic talent and not enough reliable creativity or finishing ability. We haven't got a single defender that would be looked at by the top 7.

Manager has been hung out to dry. At our best we're attractive but wasteful. At our worst we're impossibly generous but toothless

Chasing a two goal lead, and you're worried he didn't pick Dendoncker ?

I can think of one good cross from Adama that Raul should have done better with. The rest I thought were shit, still he was the most likely of the forwards to do something.
