Wolves 1-0 Leeds: Verdict Thread

Carl Robinson. One of my most disliked central midfielders and that's up against some serious competition. Did Ferguson and him ever play together?
Would have been very briefly, he didn't play much in 97/98 and I don't think at all after that.

That's a horrible pairing. He was better than Dave Edwards though.

I thought Robinson was starting to improve.......then Rae arrived and he was never getting into the team after that

Darren Ferguson OMG, i remember Mark McGhee saying he had great talent and we will unlock it. He never did though. McGhee was another wanker, he upset more people than the Government. One game i remember, we were going all out for promotion, we were playing Reading away. MGhee said "Reading were in far better shape when i was here than they are now". What did the Reading boss do, he pinned the article up in the Reading dressing room to wind his team up. Yes they beat us, and another promotion died miserably.

I thought Robinson scored a few times for us, 19 by the looks of it. Does this laughably make him one of more prolific midfielders from that period?

Edit. Were there any midfielders who scored more than Robinson for us?

Gentlemen

the last time I looked this was the Leeds verdict thread not the reminiscing over shit teams thread.
Anyhoo

returning to the verdict. I think we have stumbled on something swapping the wingers around. A shame it had been suggested by several before Xmas!
I am not getting too carried away. Cooper should have scored at least two. Both close to Patricio and not difficult saves when really he should have buried them both. Fabio or WJ would have had serious stick for missing those two chances . Semedo chances were harder and he should have done better.
Our set pieces are absolute parks standard. Awful lack of creation given the brains behind them. Something to work on in training this week

On this, I was surprised to see how high up were in the list on goals scored from corners last week. Considering we all think they are shit, especially when we go short.
For me, as long as the ball gets into an area that worries the opposing defence we are winning the battle. The conversion rate of set plays to goals is always stupidly low but fans seem to think teams should score from everyone. Yesterday we had 2 or 3 (corners and free kicks) that didn't and the least said about the decision to time waste when we won a free kick in the 87th min the better.

Agreed but the short routines often fail to deliver that and the long ball fails to beat the first man too often

That was awful. I was howling with derision at that. Especially when 30 seconds later they get a chance!

I think our conversation rate is one of (if not the) highest in the league. They were woeful last night for sure

He was a seriously "meh" midfielder, however i was surprised to see how many goals he was involved in when watching some season reviews from the late 90s/early 00s last summer.

Also noticed that Stowell got beaten from distance over his head a HELL of a lot.

Not as bad as the Albion one from earlier. Overloaded the 6 yard box and put the corner on the penalty spot where zero Albion players were stood.

Can i just ask, Bielsa is ten years older than me, how the hell does he sit on his haunches on the touchline like that, one I'd never be able to get up with any kind of panache, without some Scooby Doo running in mid air weight balance transferal thing and secondly I wouldn't be able to walk for five minutes after !!

Apparently he does that due to extreme pain in his back.
