Wolves 1-0 West Ham: Verdict Thread

It really isn't, it's akin to not loving your wife just because she forgot to pick you some shaving foam up whilst shopping, it's a nothing, an insignificance !
Reversing your evidence argument, how many times as Neves (or Huban, as Semedo calls him) not shot from that position, under identical circumstances.

A better analogy would be accusing your wife of cheating on you, when she hadn't. You didn't trust her and you should have.

Well you should, because one of those fuckers was in the FA Cup semi final (and one of his assists)

Our charge to the Semi Final of the FA Cup and Europa QF was some of the best times of our Wolves supporting lives, so i don't think you should just dismiss it out of hand just to suit your agenda.
I don't have an agenda, I didn't bring him up...

His Europa League goals were against Pyunik (who would get relegated from the Conference) and the two dead rubbers against Braga and Espanyol, neither of which mattered and neither of which we won. Controversial but I'll say we could have done with a better RWB against Sevilla rather than those stunning efforts.

We designed a role specifically for him, he was ok (no more) at it and since no-one else will give him the same freedom, he looks exactly like what he is.

Just trying not to shut down discussion, otherwise I'd shut up about him...

You do a lot of mental gymnastics to downplay his achievements don't you? His goals against Espanyol and Braga shouldn't count now?!

Also, he played well against Sevilla! Probably one of his best games defensively.

I had to watch Doherty from 2011 to 2017, I don't forget that easily :D Plus we were having to set everything up around his four goals a season, that wasn't sustainable. I gave him credit for turning around his career from bad League One full back to international footballer, though 1) not being overweight as a pro footballer should be a given, and he was overweight for years, which is outright unacceptable and 2) he's gone back the other way since he hasn't been indulged in the same manner. I doubt a Championship club would sign him right now.

I would say it's fairly easy to say that Adama had one rubbish season (year one), one good one (year two) and two where he hasn't played badly in general but the figures look very bad for him superficially (last year and this).

I'd say Doc pre-and-post Nuno aren't really relevant, and I do feel you downplay his contributions, whereas I love the fact that Nuno mixed him, Coady and Bennett playing at their max alongside more mercurial continental talents. And I'd also re-categorise your first two Adama seasons to 'patchy' and 'excellent' 😉

But I'm not going to argue too much against your feelings about Doc and, to a lesser degree, Adama. I get it, football isn't just about logic, some players never click with you, others you inexplicably love.

But that's the point, that's my problem with bringing 'disrespect' into it. It's very subjective, but it's thrown out as if it's so much more than that.

Nuno, Doherty, Adama.
We just need to weave in Fabio being a waste of money / generational talent (delete as applicable) and we can call TWF bingo all within the space of an hour

Now we have someone on their high horse sniffing at it all we can definitely say 'House' 😉

Pre-Nuno Doherty was one of the very worst Wolves footballers I have ever seen. Unprofessional, never learned anything, stinking attitude, awful at his day job and somehow got infinite contracts for no reason. I think I hated him more than I hated Ferguson.

I can't separate the two that easily though, it's the same guy, the same one I see lumbering around now for Spurs when they want to pick their third choice in that position.

I dunno, someone say Dave Jones was quite a good manager or something and I'll skip off repeat.

I can’t believe we’re still fighting about that. It worked! Who cares? 🤣

Was Bruno at Swansea the same time as Fabianski, they seemed very friendly after the game?

Pretty sure he was. Apparently he also (fabianski) rates Tony Roberts very highly for coaching him there.
