Wolves 1-1 Norwich: Verdict Thread

If Lage is the problem then it should be relatively easy to fix, if it's Lage and the players then it might get a bit bumpy
We’ve played for several weeks as if it didn’t matter much, although, of course, it did.
The players must bear responsibility for the number of poor performances, but it seems obvious that there is also a disconnect between the coach and the players.
Normally that means the coach goes, as that is the simplest solution, and I think Bruno should go.
The added problem we have is that many of the team look stale, and in need of a change.
It’s a conundrum I’m glad I don’t need to deal with, but Messrs Shi and Sellars do, and unless there are clear directives from Shanghai for them to follow, it could get messy.
I think I’d begin with a new coaching team, but who knows?

For some reason I have not noticed Brunos arm waving too much, however, at one point he had his arms at 10 minutes to 7 for a really odd length of time even jogging with it.

20 goals, I've seen 9 of them in 5 games and one of them was a nil, I'm defo not getting a ST.

1st half was just tripe, 2nd half we came out and actually attacked but lost our way.

The most entertaining thing was the disability football match at half time.

I'm certain the performances in the first half of the season were built on the foundations Nuno laid in terms of defensive shape. That's unravelled completely to the point where we could easily have been 3-0 down within half an hour to the mighty Canaries who hadn't scored for four games. In possession it seems to be make it up as we go along. If the season wasn't drawing to a close I'd be struggling to think which team other than Watford we'd have a chance of beating. Nuno was sacked last season despite three good seasons in the bank so Lage best book a flight back to Portugal for a week on Monday - unless he wants to do us all a favour and sod off now!

I must have become conditioned to crap performances but I didn't think it was that bad.
Thought we played with a lot of attacking intent and created quite a good few opportunities.
Our right side defence was poor first half with Pukki getting loads of chances created between Jonny and Boly.
Second half we started much better and should have won the game. The fact that we created opportunities but only scored one goal has been the story all season and is particularly worrying when it's against a team as poor as Norwich.
Pluses for me were, Toti, thought he was defensively secure, won his duels and looked pretty confident on the ball.
Also Chiquinho looks to be a snip if he carries on his development.
Worries are when we try and attack we look ulnerable in defence and our scoring record is woeful. Our coaching/tactics look disjointed and confused.
The thing that concerned me most was the demeanour of the squad as they went round applauding the fans. Maybe it was cos we hadn't won and I'm reading too much jnto it but they all looked 'down' and dispirited, even Coady could barely raise a smile and a wave.

just read Bruno's interview on sky.
the players gave everything the last few months !!!
we gave Norwich 1 chance and they scored !!!
we have missed 3 defenders !!!

There is no conceivable way anybody with a modicum of footballing sense could watch that and think everything will be okay in the long run. There ought to be bells the size of Big Ben's ringing but we just don't have football people in place at the club so I'm not sure anything changes.

We were so fortunate that these were utter shit because we could have easily gone in at half time two or three down. Over the three games against them they've had more shots and more shots on target.

It's clear the players have checked out. Coady looked thoroughly fucked off at the walk round at the end, and that wanker confirms its tactical? it's not tactical if you still play the same system you thick cunt. There was nothing we did in the second half with the back three we didn't do with Coady in the first half. I genuinely think Coady has tried to have a word at HT and he's been dragged off for dissent.

His wasting substitutions quote was back with vengeance wasn't it? because if he played Chiquinho instead of shoehorning his boy Hwang in then he wouldn't have wasted a sub.

We had a five minute spell where
we had a bit of a go and were then reverted to being without a plan and toothless. It still staggers me they sing the blokes name. Like most around me, I didnt even stand up when we scored which has never happened before. The apathy is thick in the air.

Whatever you think of the players or their futures theres only one bloke who decides to play Jimenez, Chiquinho, Jonny, Hwang and Silva out of position for varying amounts of time in the same game. The same bloke who has taken to putting all his attackers on one side, what even was that towards the end when we had Silva, Podence and Chiquinho all floating about on the right side? the same thing happened v City. Is he hoping Norwich lose their discipline and a quick switch will get RAN? its like lowest common denominator lower league barrel scraping.

MOTM was Toti. Really aggressive in the challenge (in a good way) and assured display on a day of nothing to be happy about.

He's saying on the wolves site we played with a back 4 in the second half which is essentially a lie, as Chiquinho was quite clearly at right wing back when we didn't have the ball.

Fuck him off!

Not a lot to say as it was played very much like a dead rubber. No issue with the Coady sub, but keeping the same shape(ish) was pathetic. Boly's legs have gone. Not convinced Chiquinho is particularly good, just that being direct and taking the game to the opposition is such a refreshing thing to see it probably elevates how good he really is. Neto still looks a shadow of his old self. Toti encouraging, not seeing him for a half in a 4 is an opportunity lost.
Surprised by the vocal support for Lage from the South Bank, seems to carry the majority there still.
Sa POTS - I've seen worse decisions, but should have been Neves .
This squad with this manager will go down next season. Massive job to be done, I have little confidence it will be.
The place we will most likely now drop because of this pathetic couple of months will cost the club financially more than twice the value of the season ticket rise

First half created nothing, second half “had a go” but the keeper only had the one save to make vs Neto. Meanwhile Pukki could have had a first half hatrick.

Jonny was garbage. Boly is done. Mental we haven’t been playing Toti. Thought Chiquinho was poor but still our brightest spark.

Didn’t really see us as vulnerable second half. As soon as we went to the pseudo 4, we stopped passing it around aimlessly around the back 3 and stopped them passing around at will.

Unbelievable! Lying cunt.

Looks like Vinny has been telling him how easy it is to say what you want and the vast majority will swallow it.

Raul walked to the stands during the POTS awards (Sa players and fans player of the season), handing his boots to someone in SBL and then went to the North Bank.

Lage briefly applauded the fans after the awards

Dogshit first half, slightly better second half when Chiquinho came on and whipped some tasty crosses into danger areas. Raul playing mainly midfield and wing, rarely appears in the 6 yard box. Silva did ok when he came on beating his man and a couple of half efforts.

A dreary end to the Molineux season, fitting with the past couple of months, scraping a draw against cannon fodder and seeing Pukki doing things we wish our strikers were doing.

Have to disagree on a couple of points. We created a couple of chances first half, not enough by a long way admittedly.
Jonny has been far from his best recently but garbage is way OTT.
Chiquinho poor? Not for me, wasn't perfect but really got us going second half.I didn't mean we were vulnerable second half.
I agree Boly is done, has been for over a season.
Yes it was nice to see us second half not aiesdly playing it sideways/backwards.
