Wolves 1-1 Spurs: Verdict thread

Don't tell me to fuck off.

You're inventing arguments that no-one has made, behave yourself. You can talk like a normal person, drop this stupid persona, please.
So you have Alan on ignore then? Go read his posts on this thread then come back, climb off your horse and accept that you have called that wrong

Think that has been more to the shape changes than Raul not being there.
Very much so, when we went, very briefly, with 4-2-4 and Raul and Pod up top he looked the player we know Raul to be.

We were splitting our wide front players too wide and central midfielders way too deep which was isolating him.

Didn't we have the same discussions when Raul arrived, that he wasn't any good because he hadn't been scoring for Benfica, and £27 million was a waste of money for somebody unproven?

Oh and leave him DW he's not worth it ;)

Again, you're inventing shit here. Even if it were true then wouldn't you be better off replying to him specifically? It isn't true, obviously.

Just stop it. If you really want me to counter absolute nonsense arguments then I will, but it's a waste of everyone's time.

The difference is the physicality in the main. Raul is a physical specimen. Fabio is still a boy.

"The chance he put into the side-netting, I've seen people here and elsewhere say that Raul scores that. I call bullshit on that. Raul doesn't make near post runs like that in the first place. Forget scoring that chance, Raul doesn't even get his foot on it."

Thats not the headed chance (apologies if Alan has posted Raul wouldn't score the header but I can't be arsed to scroll back more)

I think the headed chance is a difficult one but of course I'd like Fabio to have at least made contact with it. Fine margins and all that.

Cyber, if you take issue with my opinions, you are free to challenge them directly.

He must have you on ignore :)

I had to put alan on ignore cause we kept saying the same things in the matchday thread

I participate in the matchday thread to slag off our players constantly, not hear an echo

well whoever runs this place needs to pony up for the better hosting service to account for all of the obese number of bytes my posts take

Oh, pretty sure in that Villa game Warnock (not Colin) had a stonewall second yellow. Didn't give it.

Crossed it in for their last minute winner.
Warnock got his first booking in that game for going crazy at the lino for not giving offside against Doyle, Doyle was standing in an offside position, but he won his header from a goal kick!

Professional footballer not knowing the laws of the game shocker.

161 and 166 but Johnny 75 called Alan out on it at 162 and 164. I just added some balance and what I thought was reasoned summary at 173. 166 Alan stated that it comes over as shitty and cynical. Hence my response that even though he has done ok he is there to score and hasn’t and you can’t avoid talking about 35 million . I don’t care if it is a zero net spend it’s still spent! Otasowie looks the best newcomer this season in his brief appearances. For me, if that opinion is not too controversial for some of you.

I was going to make a programming joke, but even I'm not that pretentious.

(Yes I am).

Honestly mate, what the fuck are you on about.

Just talk about football. It's really easy. There's no need to have a fight.

Having watched all Raul’s goals for Wolves just now (sad I know) a couple of things struck me:

1) We really miss him
2) Adama really misses him, when they’re at their most telepathic both players are almost impossible to stop.
3) Jota and Raul have some understanding as a pair with their movement and passing
4) Playing with a deep lying partner and two wider forwards in Neto and Adama would make Raul even better.
5) He gets in front of players all the time and times his runs not to the near post but to the middle of the goal
6) He is exceptional in the air
7) He’s been whacked in the face plenty when heading the ball so hopefully his mental strength will see him back to his best.

I miss Raul :(

Your point about his runs being to the middle of the goal is a good one - the one Fabio missed the other day was harder than it looked because he was a few feet beyond the post - it really wasn’t easy to hit it back across himself on the move as he did.
