Are we really looking at Fabio's performance last night and saying that it wasn't good enough?

The chance he put into the side-netting, I've seen people here and elsewhere say that Raul scores that. I call bullshit on that. Raul doesn't make near post runs like that in the first place. Forget scoring that chance, Raul doesn't even get his foot on it.

Don't be daft Alan. Silva is nowhere near the player Raul is, nor is he expected to be.

Raul is s focal point, excellent footballer and scores that header in the last minute.

He's also a menace in the air and gives Traore a target.

Thank you for asking but I am fine, maybe in all this lockdown, and stuck alone up my mountain, I am better than ever in my own head. Had tons of time to evaluate my situation and what I want out of the rest of my life, and am frankly very ok, for the first time in a long time as to where , and who I am.
Am a little bit, not angry angry, with the forum.
I feel and for sure it is a personal opinion and not shared by many, ha ha as no fucker ever responds to my few posts, I feel the forum has gone south, so to speak. For example, I don't have the gigabites to watch the match live here, but am on the wolves live commms every game. I Appreciate the comments of carl ikeme, Iwelumo, thommo and others, who played the game at the top level, and yesterday I actually read ALL of the match day thread from 1 to a zillion... And frankly had no idea which match they were referring to.
Without going into the game itself, I believe that as a team wolves are in a big transission. The 3 at the back, score on the counter period is over, and Nuno is looking for something else, 433, 442, who knows.
I also believe that watching how they are buying new players....young and rated, they really do have a long term future plan, not only how we play, but where we are going, points wise and economy wise as a club.
Semedo was fucked by our mega posters from day one, silva frankly who all the pros really rate for a young in, missed a header yesterday and is now back in the shit kids pile.
We have lost....Johnny, Raul, Donk and Big willy, which never happened to us in the previous two seasons, but none of the new Nunos on the forum recognise this apart from in a brief sentence.
I love this forum, been here a long while and frankly I am just in a quiet , not alcoholic pavlos kind of way, which one or two on here seem to have promoted on their own, with no knowledge of me, or what the fuck cypro is for that matter, but frankly i feelwe seem to have recruited a huge army of self opinionated, constantly posting chaps, who are taking over.
I don't like it, don't say much, but as a member, I think I still do have a right.
And if no one agrees with me, i also have the right not to give a fuck about that either.

I'm already used to it, in fairness. It happens with just about every team that is missing their usual center forward. But in the context of Silva, with his age and price, it just comes off as cynical.

Give the kid the same chance again, I would bet my house note that he pushes the shot across goal rather than going for the near post. He's young enough to be our kid (or grandkid, for some posters). Using Raul as a stick to beat him with is the equivalent of looking at your youngest son and saying "why aren't you more like your older brother?"

It's shitty and gross. Fabio deserves better than that.

I like the lad. For 18 years old he does some really good stuff. Of course he hasn't got the craft you need yet, or the strength. Aside from the shot into the side netting he had a couple more chances that with craft he would have put in. Neto has that mazy run near the end and puts the ball into the box. Silva with craft gets behind the defender, and Neto can square it to him for a tap in, rather than go backwards where he gets closed down. Same with the Neves ball in at the death. With craft he's stepping off Dier a bit and either heads in or shoots in. To get craft you have to play, and make mistakes. Like every job in the world to learn you do it on the job, not on the training pitch or classroom.
Yes, we need a striker of Raul's quality now no doubt, but give the kid a chance. He's not shit by any stretch. He's a young lad who has got talent, but not craft yet. It will come, and i think sooner rather than later. No doubt they will have him in the gym in the off season, and bulk him up for the future.

Sorry sychp, can't agree with that, stayed of match thread and read whole thing today in one go, bore. Absolutely no resemblance to what I listened to live during the game. OK I don't have the gigabites to watch it, but listened to the game, and heard the live comments off various professionals and apart from Robert 63, if that is his epiphet??? Not much of why I heard tallied at all with what was written, For example, Semedo on air and according to the ex wolves pros had a decent game, the match day thread fucked him with a brooom handle once again, for what I think was one mistake.
I just believe the realism and sensible discourse of the forum has been eaten by the wums, who it seems have nothing else in their life other than typing every two minutes on the forum as a whole.
Just read the threads, how many times do the same names come up continually, no matter what the subject, and frankly so often they are almost answering their own posts.
Sorry sad old member....wondering where bit has all gone!

And by the way it wasn't a rant and a surprise for Paddy it had no cypro involved, it was just in my opinion a sad reflection of how I remembered the forum and how of it is now.

Fabio had two clear chances and didn’t score them. If Raul , Neto or Podence had similar and missed it would be critiqued. You don’t get a free pass cause you’re 19. He did lots of good things but didn’t score. Unfortunately that’s the reality of being a premier league footballer not a championship one. If you’re playing as the focal point to score goals it’s what is expected.

Raul would have done this that and the other that Fabio doesn't is a bit of a reductive argument and vice versa.

I would agree that Raul, like a lot of our players, hasn't been at his best since the first lockdown - was greedier than before, shooting when others were better placed and Freddying at defenders legs...but he still came up with goals from either nowhere or difficult chances. That's what we miss most. He's now missed 6 games, precedent would say he would have probably scored 2/3 goals probably getting us a similar amount of extra points in them

I am trying to get my head around some of the comments regarding the mild criticisms young Fabio is getting and I am trying to balance it as he isn’t ready. He’s not. I can’t change that.
