Wolves 1-2 Everton: Verdict Thread

Im so disappointed with this performance. And dont even say were too good to do down, ive heard this before, many times, and guess what happens. Another sleepless night awaits me.

Anyone know what the thinking might have been with Silva on the left? Genuine question.

Surprised by the views on MGW - thought he had a terrible game - slow in thought and caught a number of times. Silva needs taking out of the starting XI, but replacing him with Cutrone is not much of an upgrade.

If Nuno was looking to squeeze some dosh out of Fosun, tonight will be a big help.

I don't think it's about the money. It's about the changes after Brexit in the market, plus the cost of players doubles in January.

The future is bright that much is clear.

We`ve got 18 and 19 year old players that doesn`t look out of their depths playing in the PM.

I don`t understand what is the strenght of Silva though. He is neither fast, strong, or a good header. What did the scouting departement see in him?
Silva has excellent movement and is a finisher, he has snatched at a few but thats to be expected for an 18 year old. That shot today for me was a small improvement in that he did not snatch at it.

We are struggling with Injuries, We need our players back and rather quickly.

Stand out points for me, were Hoever, Vithana Neves back to his best.
The biggest plus for me was MGW I thought he looked excellent and cannot wait to see him with Podence, Neto, Adama and Raul.

We have a real bright future.

The result pissed me off thats yet another game this season we have not got whet we deserved out of the game.

First half he was decent. Not everything came off but his play was positive and he combined well with team mates.

you could see he was knackered early in the second half with some loose touches and wayward passes though.

I really think we don't make the most of our subs. With only Neto of our regular forward players on the pitch - and he disappeared after the assault by Doucoure - we were desperate for a little creativity. Vitinha might just supply that and whilst Hoever looks a fantastic prospect he is not a right winger. Surely Corbeanu offers more, and if he doesn't I don't hold out much hope for his future!

I get that people think Silva isn't ready and he isn't for what we want him to do but most strikers in world football wouldn't, Jimenez has a pretty unique skill set that me make the most of but i'm not having people single him out tonight. Yes he played a few shit passes and he was too weak at times but he run his bollocks off to help RAN in a position he shouldn't be playing. On top of that there's other players that are better than him and that have more experience that should be doing better but not going to dig them out tonight as for me the problem lies with the manager again. I said a few weeks back he's got it wrong a lot more this season and it's still happening.

I thought we did ok in the first half but the way we set up didn't make sense especially when you could see Everton were struggling to play centrally. I can also understood why he stuck with it after half time because he would have thought it wasn't going badly but 5 minutes into the second half changes were needed. We needed a better ball carrier on the left and we needed a 10 behind the striker. This didn't happen and then no matter who was up top be that MGW, Fabio or Cutrone they just had no support to link with and to get us any meaningful attacks. This was also the case for the wide players hence why we created no chances in the whole half and Neves was our biggest danger from outside the box.

We have lots of injured players, we have lots of inexperienced players playing but i still worry if Nuno can make us a more attacking team. His instinct is too defend and be solid first, that's fine if you are solid and don't concede soft goals like the first tonight but if you constantly concede first and have a soft centre which we do at the moment you have to score goals and have patterns of play that get players in goal scoring positions which we don't often enough. We're far too safe on the ball in all areas really, too many recycled balls sideways and backwards and too slow to play the ball forward when it's on. When everyone is back fit we definitely have the players to play attacking football and score goals while still being solid and it's on Nuno to do that. I've said before it doesn't really bother me as much as it would at the start of the season where we finish between 14th and 8th as long as we can see progression as the games go on, that's not happening at the moment.

Guess we all see things differently.
He certainly Tired but 1st half in particular his touches, running and passing was excellent, i like that he tries to play that killer ball and a couple of times it was fucking close to getting through

The problem is he himself is 18, even less senior experience than Fabio. I would have replaced MGW with Cutrone or Vitinha anyway

Corbeanu at least looks like he is ready for senior football.
