Wolves 1-5 Man City: Verdict Thread

The Zinchenko one was a penalty, he fouled Chiquinho AND THEN touched the ball, no doubt about it.

The Fernandinho one wasn't a penalty in my view, Fernandinho was fortunate as he didn't intend to play the ball, it hit him, but he did play the ball before he touched Neto.

But both of them were obviously far more penalties than the one given against Moutinho at the Etihad.

Baffling.

"he got the ball"

Yeah after he took him out!

The first person to grab is Chiquinho, after that it's not getting given unless he doesn't win the ball

Man City squad cost £ 1.1 billion Wolves £ 2.9 million.
That's why they are where they are.

Of the entire starting XI last night only Coady cost under £2.9m. How is that the whole team's value!

I don't think saying Man City are better than us, because they have better players and spend more money is particularly controversial. That said we've only not given them some sort of game twice in the PL this time round once when Boly was sent off after about 10 minutes and the other was last night. If we want to take the Burnley 'they are better than us what do you expect approach? then OK...but it's regression

We are in a higher position in the league than we were last season. Fact.

Where we go next season I don't know. All depends on what Fosun are prepared to spend and as yet we don't know. If they have lost interest then put the club up for sale.

I've not said everything is ok.
Obviously it's not, but until then its all guessing what could or might happen.
I have stated the fact that we are going to finish higher than last season that's all.

Of course it is, but it against Man City.
Look at the game away when they were "gifted" a penalty. Every pundit said it wasn't a penalty and some people say there is not an agenda against the so called top teams.

It's not a dig at you, it's how often this argument gets thrown out and it's far, far too shallow.

I don't really care where we finish given it's going to be below 7th and so it's just mid-table nothingness. We are atrocious to watch, we have served up some of the worst performances in the Fosun era and over a third of a season will have shown genuine relegation form in bald terms of results.

Firing out the league position isn't an answer to anything. If you had to put money on it would you back us to finish above any/all of Leicester, Newcastle, Palace or Brighton next season? I wouldn't. We definitely aren't catching anyone currently above us under Lage.

I agree. That's why I would like to know what Fosuns aims are. As far as the manager I'm undecided to be honest.

Yeah because these players were performing for Nuno too, lost 4-0 to Burnley and couldn’t beat a Utd reserve team in his last game which would have been a great send off.

Best manager i’ve seen at our club by some way but we can’t forget it was pretty bad at the end even allowing for Covid.
The really bad stuff at the end was AFTER Nuno knew it was coming to an end, covid and Rauls injury.

We were just generally pretty poor last season regardless tbh. Covid just killed our moment as a team/club, and something changed in Nuno (I just hope he takes his time to pick his next club and come back refreshed).

but this season has been just as poor really in terms of level of performance. We are in a false position (and it’s catching up with us) largely thanks to an very very good performance this season from our goalkeeper, but that won’t last to that level. The team give up for too easily again, that’s never a good sign for the head coach.

I think there will be a lot of change this summer.
