Handsome result. Decent game, and some good footballing on display. Not clinical enough, but certainly promising.

Fantastic result.

Very encouraging performance, I'm in love with Ruben Neves.

Ruddy looked more stable than he did in pre-season bar the one part in the first half where he came and flapped. Some good saves that kept us in the lead.

Agree, great result and a clean sheet aswell! 3 pts in the bag for Premier League...

Up until de Roon went off and Forshaw came on we utterly dominated things.

Saiss needs a slap for getting too lax at the end but he and Neves are undoubtedly the pair to go with at CM after that.

First manager to win his first game since Dave Jones, so now thats sorted dont have to hear about it again until the next 7 managers dont win their first game.

Very quick summary - first half excellent. Last 20 minutes we held on, but we look generally solid. Jota very quiet for the most part, Neves unbelievable.

Lots to improve on but very promising. Off for a pint with Deutsch!

Been in the sunshine on Preston Sands beach all afternoon with no signal. Absolutely delighted with the result and goalscorer. Can't wait to read some verdicts :D

Also, if anyone has forgotten, Porto supporters (and our own SLB) told us that this is roughly how Nuno teams go. Workmanlike, solid, get the job done football.

Most interested in hearing how Bright got on. I am desperate for him to score and get the monkey off his back.

Still think graham is better than bright

In the context of the season that is a bloody good day for us. Win a six pointer, Owls lose, Derby & Fulham drop points. And we can only improve...

Listening to commentary on talksport2 he gave Friend some right problems. Final ball will come but he certainly looked the business

Alan;

I thought Bright was very good, had the beating of George Friend every time, he's very frustrating in the sense that he beats his man with ease but then he has a massive brain fart and goes back to do it again, he just likes to make things harder for himself. He's not shy on confidence at all, but he needs to lift his head up once he's beat his man. Too many times he tried to do too much, but very promising. Plus he should have had a penalty, got a shove in the back in the second half but ref didn't give it.

So he's VLP Mk.II? I'll love him forever, then.

Well, you also think pressing a decent opponent for 90 minutes is realistic, so... :icon_wink:
No but completely backing off and subbing attackimg players for defensive ones often punishes yourself in the end

He's a confident player yet doesn't back himself striking the ball, it's weird. It will come though, I thought he was great he had the respect of the Middlesbrough defenders as they backed off him constantly in the second half

He put Graham and Dicko on. Plus Edwards as a ten.

Just seen the goal, really calmly stroked it home left footed. Not a difficult chance, but well tucked away
