Wolves 1 v 0 Bournemouth Verdict Thread: Howe Do You Say 'Relegation'?

It's improved in the second half of the season.

He only needs one more for a two game ban.

The cut off is the end of play on Saturday so if he avoids one at Villa he's home and dry barring sendings off.

Best of all, cybers mystical bollocks with the tea leaves or runes or whatever, was shown to be the bollocks it is,sorry cyber

Careful. Remember my three to go down were three from Bournemouth Norwich Brighton and Sheff It's and that was last May!

Saiss has been much improved this season with his discipline, he is gunna pick up the occasional yellow

I am not knocking Saiss at all however 5 or so of those yellow cards have been for silly nigly tackles from behind in areas of the pitch where it didn't really matter. Hardly taking one for the team. That's my only frustration.

Apart from when Adama sat him on his ass at the end of the first half and made him look like a mug...

I thought that too - because he is Ake, Jenas praised him for making the angle difficult - no, he went to ground, sold himself and still left Adama with a good angle.

Another comfortable performance, keeping the opponents at bay and then upping the tempo to take the lead/seeing the game out. The cherry on the cake would have been Neto burying his chance at the end but hopefully the players will be injury free and ready for the vile on Saturday.

Boly MOTM.

I have slagged off Saiss before not being able to cope with pace of the prem but he has raised his bar accordingly as many of our players under Nuno..so all credit to him and the defence i think has to get the praise this evening

Nothing spectacular but a win is a win and we were the only side actually trying to score.

In possession Boly seemed to spend a lot of time in their half - almost as an extra midfielder.

Diogo not up to speed yet.

I muted the commentary so couldn't work out why Adama and their defender were forehead to forehead, and could that be why Adama was substituted a minute later?

If I had to nitpick, we have one habit in every game that doesn't seem to help. We get the ball, break forward, then pass the ball back to Coady in our half which gives the opposition time to regroup. His distribution is great, but we are starting attacks from our half against 11 players instead of from their half against five or six.

Already been covered.

I think he has been fully aware of most of his yellows. Notice he doesn't pick up an second yellows, but also continues to defend ably.

He is superb, IMO.

Adama is really becoming epic at crossing and a great header.

it's starting to look more and more difficult for bournemouth to dive their way out of this

They gave it a pretty good try last night, when they weren't kicking the shite out of us that is

A few random thoughts...

I was pretty nervous at 1-0 but any impartial observer wouldn't have been. Bournemouth never managed a shot in anger and looking at their fixtures they're doomed
I thought Ake was OK, but I wouldn't be rushing to spend even £40m on him, let alone the £60m I've seen suggested as his value.
I love Diogo but if we start 343 then it's probably time to start Pedro Neto
And there's a video on Twitter of the goal without the 'crowd' noise. The thump when Raul heads the ball sounds fantastic

Cook running full speed into a static Jota from behind, bouncing off his hip, swan-diving and STILL winning the free-kick pretty much summed up why I dislike Bournemouth

Good professional performance particularly in a type of game we usual struggle (them sitting back for a point, low tempo) add to that the heat etc and only 2nd game after the restart and a ref that seemed to give them everything.

Thought we always looked in control maybe took a while to get into our stride (whats new) but knocked on the door and unlocked it.

3 points onto the next one!

Again, I was never worried that we'd concede. We weren't at full pelt, but we didn't need to be. We're very difficult to break down and teams are reluctant to commit men forward with the pace we have on the counter. That's 2 games and no real scoring opportunity against us.

I wouldn't change the starting XI TBH - Jota is getting the occasional criticism as he tends to do if he's not enjoying a purple patch but he's still a handful for defenders to play against. It's not quite clicked between him and Raul over the last 2 games but there have been a few 'nearly' moments. I don't agree that he's 'rusty' just because he's not scored. You can't drop Raul, and Jota is the better option to start alongside him. Wouldn't bet against him scoring on Saturday.

Last night also reaffirmed why I want Bournemouth to go down over Villa. Can't abide them. If Villa drop too, that's an added bonus but Bournemouth have stunk out this division for too long.

At the moment I'd play Neto ahead of Jota, he just looks like he carries more of a threat. I like Diogo but he does go in and out of form quite frequently IMO. If he could establish a level of consistency he'd be a superstar.

The last 4 mins of that game showed me the difference from being there and watching on TV. At the game I would have been convinced we would concede a late goal,...watching on the TV, chilled as you could be in 30d.

2 wins as easy as we could get them. Villa will cause us more problems on Saturday as they won't sit back in numbers so hoping this creates the space for Jota to have some fun
