Wolves 1 Villa 0. If only Dicko could look up verdict thread

Costa or Stears MOTM for me. Probably just give it to the former. He's too good for us!

What a win, what a performance, delighted with that. Thought we defended magnificently and dealt with everything we had to. Joe Mason was really good up top and I was pleased for him getting his goal but sorry to say I'm done with the Dicko experiment now.

I am really warming to Lambert and it does seem we have the Norwich version, we are starting to look a very exciting outfit

The game was excellent and a fitting tribute to Graham Taylor

Dicko should have been dropped a couple of games ago for his own good. It's poor management for me from Lambert. The longer he's been out there the more desperate he's gotten. Take him out of the firing line and rotate his usage with Bod and he maybe settles down a little and has an excuse not for scoring as he'd have been rotated.

Fuller thoughts later but let no one ever paint Steve fucking Bruce as the Messiah ever again. Awful football and no attempt to get the best out of what he has available.

Stears MOTM.

Great three points but we could have closed the game a bit earlier..Costa MOTM for me

Solid, energetic performance - only negative was Dicko's desperate decision-making. Will Ikeme get a full appearance fee for that?

Not understanding the hate for Dicko. He looked dangerous, decision making in final third was poor but I'm pleased to see him looking sharp and creating chances for himself. Him and Jon dadi, who was great when he came on, are two good options for us to have.

Solid performance overall, not sure we can get away with Mason and Eddwards in middle as someone mention in matchday thread. They did OK today but Villa were piss poor. Anyway, the progress is there for us to see and long may it continue

Good win, we looked solid throughout which is a massive achievement when you think how sloppy we were 10 games ago.

Was very surprised Iorfa didn't start, and neither WIllo nor Evans were on the bench. By the end though, I'd struggle to fault Lambert's selection.

Solid performance, should have scored another probably to make it more comfortable, but really never looked like conceding. We've come a long way quickly.

Not understanding the hate for Dicko.

I don't hate him at all and really want him to score but i just don't see it happening and as said, he keeps choosing the wrong option and many promising attacks come to nothing as a result. Maybe a couple of appearances from the bench may be better for him for now

Oh wanky wankyyy!

Going to enjoy tonight. Top team performance with no real stand out performers. Everyone played well.

Solid at the back bar one DB pull back on McCormack that could have been a pen. Doherty and Stearman were really good as was Price. Dicko flattered to deceive. Should have scored and should have passed. 3 0 would have been about right.

Lambert has said that leaving Willo and Evans out was the hardest decision he's ever made in his managerial career.

It wasn't a great game, but we deserved the win. Aston Villa were very poor and rarely threatened our defence. Costa is simply a class above most players in this division.

Gritty performance deserved to win by more. Echo the thoughts on Dicko some poor decision making today. Mason, Costa and Stears stood out for me today.

That was rather good wasn't it. I'm off to do what I do win or lose...have a drink or four.
