Wolves 2 - 0 Blackpool - The verdict

It will be good to hear from those who went. It seems like an emotional tribute was paid to Sir Jack. And apparently Blackpool fans had a banner saying "R.I.P. Sir Jack."

The lads made him proud!
B-E-N-I-K B-E-N-I-K B-E-N-I-K and Benik is his name-o!!
We got the result in the end!

Great win, in the end. Edwards is fast becoming our most prolific goal scorer.

I still wanna see that first half miss though! Agreed though, he's having a real habit lately of popping up with the important goals!

Will a grown Quirk be mocked for crying at the end when the Sir Jacks chant were sang after Beniks goal. It was very emotional before but just for that spilt second emotion hit me. That's for you Sir Jack God bless you.

I was wiping tears away during the minute's applause. We struggled to get past a resolute but extremely limited Blackpool side.

Edwards miss in the first half was awful, had about five choices and picked the sixth option that gave the keeper an easy job. Made up for it with a good finish for the first. Brilliant for Afobe to get a goal on debut, but what the fuck were the Blackpool defence doing??? Keystone cops stuff.

Not at our best at all, but three more points in the bag.

They can mock me too for shedding a few tears before kick off as well.

No shame in shedding tears Gents. It just shows how much you thought of Sir Jack.

The secret of a good side is to win without playing well and thats what today sounds like. First win against any of the current bottom 4 and only our second against the bottom 8 currently so its a welcome result if the performance didnt sound up to that much. A great bit of defence from Blackpool for 86 mins and Dave Edwards does it again. Really pleased for Afobe to get off the mark so soon- takes some pressure off. Top 8 have a 6 point gap now.
RIP Sir Jack- Three points to send you off with.

Must just say I thought Dominic Iorfa was bloody tremendous again today. Quite the player. Looks like he has everything.

Short verdict while I am still out - we were poor but won. Had Edwards scored on half time we'd have coasted it. Full backs top class again.

We were lucky. JOH best player on the pitch.

O'Hara barely touched the ball in the second half, what are you on about? He did very little, that's euther sarcasm or you watched a different game to me

MCDonald ran the game, the only player to constantly keep moving the ball and try to play forward. 99 passes overall from him is an extraordinary effort considering his average is 68 before this fame and that was the highest in the division.

We weren't brilliant, but Blackoool got what they deserved for appallingly negative tactics, time wasting at every opportunity and having all eleven players behind the ball.

Henry and van la Parra disappointed in the first half, with the latter making a much bigger impact in the second half. Our attacking play came down the right hand side, through him and Iorfa and both played their part in the first goal.

Afobe looked lively, we improved when he came on for Henry and great for him to get a debut goal

JOH is what he is, he can still pick a pass, take a set piece and keep it nice and tidy but he can never seriously impact on games in his current state. He just can't run at all. He has never offered anything defensively and nor did he today.

He was ok, no better or worse than I expected. Fair play to him not responding to the crowd's (understandable) taunts.

Agree with all of that YW.

Though we lost some width when Henry went off, but Afobe's movement was exactly what we needed as Blackpool were camping 10 men behind the ball from the first whistle. Got what they deserved. Shitty tactics from a Shitty manager.

Pretty much this. he had a brief spell in the first half when they actually passed the ball a bit where he had a fair bit of the ball but that was it.

Their keeper, who I remember being atPeterobrough before, couldn't help biting back at the crowd. Bizarre, I've not seen a keeper at this level act like that

O'Hara was Blackpool's best player on the day, but he certainly wasn't the best player on the pitch.
