Think its possible we could play Dicko and Afobe together, maybe with Dicko playing wide, he pulls wide quite a lot anyway to find space. The negetives for that though would mean Sako or VLP being dropped and possibly leaving us a bit light covering defensively. the presence of Dicko and Afobe in the squad does give us options

Lycan - you are not talking shite in post 45 - agree with most of that. Mind you if you were wasted yesterday then you must have drunk a lot on the train as you didn't seem that bad when I saw you on the station on the way home :burp:

Edwards appeared to be in two minds as to what to do with the ball on his missed chance - shoot or pass. Ended up trying to do both with the expected end result to that.

Interesting to see how in pans out with Dicko & Afobe, though suspect that we could have got away with playing both yesterday as Blackpool had come with little intention of anything other than 0 - 0. Against a team who were prepared to attack a bit then playing both might leave us a bit lightweight when trying to defend.

In any event strikers lose form/have barren periods and at least now we have a good alternative.

They played together for about 30 mins against Blackpool, when KJ changed to a 4-3-3 lineup (don't know if they played that way). Dicko and Afobe with VLP, Edwards with Price and Macca. That's what opened them up and we scored 2 goals from close in.
As you say it gives us options depending on what the opposition are doing.

Game likes that yes, if the opposition sit off of us and defend like that we can afford to. Afobe likes to drop in anyway and he worked back defensively. I would keep it as it is for the Charlton game but I wouldn't be surprised if we started with a similar shape to the way we ended the game yesteday, with Edwards to the left almost but coming in off the line.

It's games (and probably seasons) like this that really make me miss being a season ticket holder. Wonderful to see a fitting tribute for Sir Jack, in terms of atmosphere and result.

Lee Clarke in his post last interview points out there was six minutes of injury time meaning having to hold on for 51 minutes. It was probably his instructions that the Blackpool players were dropping like flies and staying down for an eternity walking the long way off the pitch etc etc when it was still 0-0. I'm (obviously) so glad we managed to score late on - the one thing I don't like about football (nowadays) is all the blatant cheating

We were gaining some momentum in the last 20 minutes and they were deffo wasting time. At one stage one of their players who was "injured" was told by the ref to go off over the line by the goals, he completely ignored him and sauntered off to the touchline 30 yards away. Don't know why the ref didn't book him, he was far too weak with em imo........bit em in the arse in the end though
