As Doherty has just said flat and slow to start with but gradually picked up and ended up comfortable winners. Podence is beginning to look a very composed player and think he'll be great next season. BT love in with Jiminez was nauseous, it's as if they think he's too good for us. Every chance of Europa next season now.

Excellent result - not a great performance but I guess palace just broke the game up, mcarthur and mccarthy just gave niggly fouls away all day to break up play, zaha and ayew fell over and then bitched about it at any opportunity, made it hard for us to get any flow.
A few too many people had an off day, but it was a Must win game, and we won so I’m pretty happy.

2020: P37 W15 D14 L8 GD +13 (F51 A38) Pts 59
So credit where it is due, as that's genuine improvement, whichever way you cut it. Could it have been better, yes possibly, but I think we've flogged that horse enough for now
Hard to call that much more than what it was, a 'professional' performance punctuated by a couple of moments of quality. Palace weren't quite at Everton's level of can't-be-arsedness but there wasn't a whole lot going on there...missing a few starters, admittedly.
Think we'll need to raise things significantly to get something from Chelsea, but we know they can.

Thought Podence was very good again, we probably got to see a bit less of him on the ball running at people tonight but he was still buzzing around never giving the Palace back line a second on the ball. Worked his nuts off out of possession.

Felt we sat off a bit too much for the first 20 and a couple of mistakes could have cost us. Our goal settled us, or at least my frayed nerves, felt that whilst we weren't really great after that we were in the driving seat.
Love this team and really hope we get europa next season, before the game you could see the disappointment in Jimenezs face when he talked about missing out on CL, would be a shame to miss out on amy european football.

And the fact that time after time Palace players took our players out with snide kicks to the ankle from behind. Quite how they only got one yellow and we got two is mystifying.

thats a bit harsh but it was not a nice watch. two nice goals and little trouble defensively. Palace will struggle next year. Townsend Ayew and Zaha all need selling and investment back into the squad.
