Wolves 2-1 Brighton: Verdict Thread

I'm delighted to see Silva have more and more game changing influences on matches too. Gets their defender sent off and assists the equaliser. I'm really excited by him

Ditto. Him and RAN get better every week. It's going to be really hard to drop Silva next season.

I hope we can figure out a way to make Raul and Fab mesh together. That partnership feels to me like it will either be brilliant or a disaster without much in-between.

RAN was class
Kilman solid
Hoever was fine but his crossing is ABYSMAL and he must have put in 20.
Neves was poor. Shooting way off.
Moutinho better later on.
Vitinha good start, then quiet then better second half.
Podence, hmmmm. He was OK when they were down to 10. But this is the problem, he’s a luxury we can’t afford and he doesn’t do enough to be carried.
MGW, he tried. Was very loose throughout the game but at least he was trying. I’m hoping it’s just been pressure. 3 games now with less weight on his shoulders, let’s see what he can do.
Fabio was good.
Traore was passing, combining, moving. Why can’t you do this every week?
WJ, did nothing. Wasted a good chance.

Another 3 games for these players to keep building and Nuno finding solutions.

Great finish, again lots of positives. Both fullbacks/wingbacks impressive, not everything worked for him but loved Gibbs-White today in terms of his energy and running, great finish and good attitude to try and put the miss behind him. It was genuinely lovely seeing his interview and seeing how much that obviously means to him.

Fabio looked good again, seems to be a tiny bit quicker too now.

Good first 10, then poor till half time. Second half thought we were very good even before the sending off.
Traore's best game for ages, Silva excellent again.
So pleased for Morgan, after he missed that sitter feared for his confidence, no doubt the haters will still be on his back, good finish.
Whatever the result(s) I'd like to see this team or variations of it for the rest of the season.
Would have preferred to see Corbeanu rather than Jose

I think we all assumed Pod/Neto were the Jota replacements. I don't think they are.

We all know the negatives, but concentrating on the positives:

Good to come back from being a goal down and going onto win, especially with quite a few fringe players on the pitch

Great to see MGW score, whether he makes it here or not he deserves that, especially after his miss. He'll remember that forever, and rightly so. Well done lad.

More good, dynamic play from RAN, I really enjoy watching Vitinha too.

Good positive contribution too from Adama, that's what we need from him

He did well, but no way in a million years is he starting ahead of a fit Raul.

Im not going to mention the cliche of the game changed by the sending off Im going the higher press and aggressiveness from the off. Even before the sending off we got on the ball higher up and moved it nicely.

I was thinking Fabio looks a bit quicker last few games, probably quicker of thought rather than extra pace

Perhaps were starting to see what the recruitment team saw in him as an 18 year old

Yep. Even before the card, it was night and day- you only have to look at Vitinha and Silva's interplay that led to the sending off to see that.

he also held up the ball several times and won battles against their defenders rather than falling over. he always showed intelligence and movement but now he's starting to put the rest together

4 goals and 2 assists in 8 PL starts (21 sub appearances).

However you paint it that's impressive for an 18 year old, and he's starting on merit rather than necessity now.
