Wolves 2-1 Leicester: Verdict Thread

All good this end mate. Hope you and youre family are good also.

We're splendid ta - I'm also feeling very happy at being proved wrong because I honestly thought we were in for a bit of a struggle this season. I think Bruno is doing a great job.

Anyway - getting back to the verdict, I think Templeton summed it up well at the very start of this thread. About time we had some luck v Leicester - I'll take 3 points from a somewhat underwhelming performance any day of the week. We're really difficult to play against - long may it continue.

I wish they would get rid of the bloodey goal music though. Didn’t we vote ages ago to get rid of that nonsense?
Oddly it seems very popular with Social Media pages that live tweet games. Presume its the choice of tune used for them

Rarely notice it at the game myself (without making the obvious we don't score enough to do so quip)

I'd also get rid of the music. However, when I look to the South Bank after a goal they're all going crazy and bouncing along (er, in time, sort of) so I wouldn't be surprised if the music powers that be look at that and think everyone loves it.

Pleas stop playing Jamiroquai before every game though for the love of god. We're not Top Gear in the noughties, they don't have to be on every fortnight.

They just know they can use that one because of Espanyol away. Otherwise I don't think they'd have brought goal music back (although I guess something was needed when fans weren't there).

Seeing as we don’t score many I doubt you’ll hear it often 😉

Think it was 12/13 we ditched it and most people thought it was good to do so. Not sure why it was brought back this season, I assumed they added the music back during the lockdown season just to cover up how quiet the stadium was but it's still here now. Takes away from the celebrations I agree.
The yoof like it because it reminds them of Espanyol away I believe, so the club think it's approved unlike your standard Tom Hark or Song2.

I'm another who'd bin it

Goal music can get in the bin. Especially as we robbed this one from another club, in a dead rubber game that we lost.

Surprised to see Semedo getting some flak - I thought he was our MOTM, defended well and pushed on when required. We had precious few problems down our right, we struggled a bit on the other side where RAN didn't have his best game. That'll happen from time to time though (he can cut out the stupid diving, a bit fortunate we didn't have Martinelli II as he got booked for the dive and gave away a free kick with a pretty rash tackle from behind 10 seconds later). Podence and Sa were good too.

Hwang did well when he came on, added a bit more physicality and linked the play well. Great to see Neto back and in full flight straight away.

We should have got a point at their place, they should have got a point (no more than that) yesterday, we finish a point in credit in the end so all good.

Kasper Schmeichel is a dick, by the way.

Yep, if there is one time that manufactured noise shouldn't happen it's when a goal is scored. We all want to hear a natural noise.

Play that tune before or after the game by all means, but during the game is all sorts of wrong, and is a huge Americanism.

Neto must have gonads of steel to immediately bust a gut the way he did coming off of a shattered kneecap. Can't imagine how badly that must have hurt, would definitely have been a mental sticking point for a lot of players. Pedro looked like he'd never been away.

Im very sure he would have done hundreds of those turns and runs in training and would have got through ok. I bet there was a collective sigh when he got clattered just after though..

Was reassuring wasn’t it. He did look exhausted after his first couple of sprints naturally!

Trains were carnage weren't they! Was this the supposed 20.03 departure? I was only going back to Derby so gave up and got the rail replacement, I arrived back just as the 1903(!) was getting in at 10.
We planned on the 20.03, saw the 19.03 was delayed slightly (at the time) so hotfooted it over to New Street, eventually getting back home around 00:15 after my darling wife collected my brother and I from Leeds!

The fans singing the tune came before Wolves using it as goal music, we stole it from Espanyol as they played it when they scored - so we sang it back when we scored!

I'd much rather we binned goal music off and just let the fans celebrate organically.

I want it all. Goal music, horns, drums. Make Molineux a proper ruckus.

I'm so glad NA soccer culture has adopted things like tifos and instruments, even if our chants are roundly shite.

Bloody Yanks!

I remember when they first played that music prior to lockdown and everyone under the age of 25 started jizzing on the spot

That can all get in the bin. It's a slippery slope from there to plastic clappers like Leicester have/had given out to all their fans for games.

Kasper Schmeichel is a dick definitely. Trying to ref the game whining at the officials.

Though we have our fair share of players other fans don't like. Yesterday it was Ait-Nouri for diving and Podence for rolling about, and also leathering the ball at a player on the ground.

I still don't understand why their player wasn't sent off for shoving Podence to the ground either. Just because his back was turned doesn't make it any less than reacting violently and raising hands to another player, in fact it was a cunt's trick as Podence was completely defenceless. It was almost the back of his neck due to Podence's height too!
