Wolves 2 Bournemouth 0; The I hope their Chaiman is ok Verdict Thread

Hard fought win in atrocious conditions. Jimenez was great as was Bennett . MGW and Jota good, Costa set up the winner and for all their huff and puff Patricio relatively untroubled

Wolverhampton Wanderers have now won 25 points in the 2018/19 @premierleague season, equal to their total points tally from 38 matches in their previous PL campaign (2011/12) @Wolves #WOLBOU

Another 3 wins and we're safe I reckon :)

Don't think it was hard fought at all tbh. I thought we controlled the game. Superb game management from the moment we scored up until the final whistle.

Have put another verdict thread up - can a Mod merge them in please

Said he felt scared for his safety last time we played them IIRC.

Not much in it really but we had better chances. First half the only time we looked in trouble was when we kept surrendering possession easily.

They had a lot of play but the back 3/5 were superb. Moutinho was better than Neves. Jota and Raul superb. MGW had a shocker of a first 35 but then started keeping it simple and was great. Saiss did a job. Costa should have scored and then it would have been casual.

I have to say that apart from the pass at the end to Raul, I thought Costa was dire. He didn't seem to have any confidence to take his man on and gave the ball away so much.
Terrible conditions though and i think a well deserved win. They pressured us second half but apart from a lot af poor clearances from the defence, they didn't really trouble Rui

Good win and I agree that Bournemouth never really threatend. Yes, they had most of the possession but did they do much with it, or turn it into any chances? Not at all. I thought our defence was superb throughout the match. Jota had a fantastic first half (hopefully back soon), MGW looked promising as per, Raul was immense throughout and the backline were solid. Costa was poor again which is worrying but it was a great pass to Cav who is continuing to demonstrate that he is our best finisher. If Jota isn't fit then I'd like to see Cav start and not Costa.

Nuno's team selection was justified and although I think it was an error to bring on Costa not Cav he made the other two subs at the right time. A good job done this was.

What would be the matter with him??? Why wouldn’t he be OK?

He said that he felt "in danger" while walking back to the railway station last time they played at Molineux and robbed us thanks to a dodgy referee
I doubt any Wolves fans would have had a clue who he was

Could only follow the game on here but it sounded like we got more control when Saiss came on, or is that too simplistic? Whatever chuffed with our 3rd win in a row........up to seventh, bloody hell

First time we've won three consecutive top flight games since football was invented in 1992, and we've now got as many points as we achieved in our last premier league season, happy days :)

I was pretty surprised by the stats at the end of the game-- you'd have thought we were on the back foot the whole time with their large portion of possession, twice as many passes, etc.

all in all a relatively comfortable game. they threatened at times but were always cleaned up by our excellent defense.

Costa, once again, dreadful. WHY is he still even an option? No reason Cav shouldn't be in his spot.

Jota and Raul did a great job capitalizing on that passing mistake, hopefully Jota's injury isn't too serious as he once again looked fantastic until his removal. Saiss was a great sub in controlling the midfield and holding play. MGW not as flashy as in previous games but still fine overall. mou playing well again.

He definitely helped stabilize things, no doubt.

Let's hope that's our blip over and done with. Three on the bounce have certainly put us back on track and we looked back to our 'best of the rest' form, considering Bournemouth are part of 'the rest' and offered virtually no threat. Costa's continuing dip in form is a shame for him, but we have adequate strength in depth for it not to affect the team too much. Feeling pretty happy tonight.

Only the top 4 have conceded fewer goals than us - a lot of what we have achieved has been built on this foundation

We have not scored as many as we should have, but are improving (6 for & 2 against in the last 3 games)

The future is bright - the future is in Old Gold
