After the nerves and emotions of Saturday, what a calming return to form.

Someone on Saturday said we were flat track bullies. If we are, well, long may beating teams like Reading continue!

Have at it.

Neves is a hero.

Bloody brilliant tonight better than the Leeds game. Kept possession so well and some of the passing was sublime. Costa looking back to his best and threats all over the park not least Mr Gloves. Hard to pick a MOTM when everyone has been so good but just for a few world class passes and an overall beast of a performance Neves gets my vote.

Now let's smash Burton!!!

Just want to say thanks to Alan for the updates. Top man - as I was watching t'other game I was following the game on here so cheers.

We have enough teams ALA Reading that we can get the points off - there are difficult games, but those should not derail us at all

However Matt Doherty on the cusp of a hat trick is somewhat surreal

After 20,000 some posts, I figured it was time I contributed something of value. :tiphat:

Thanks for the commentary Alan and WH. Saw the goals. By all accounts was a comfortable win.
Just posted a pic of a 'mind the gap' t-shirt as Villa's new kit on Facebook for my Villa 'mates'. Haven't had any response so far, funnily enough?

Bennett to stay in for the remainder of the season then?

Actual footage of Nuno looking for Villa on the table post-match...

I will confess that gutless display at Villa had me worried how well we would move forwards - but looks like it was the Villa fans who should have worried not us, we bounced back magnificently. A poor Reading team yes but we can only beat what's in front of us. Let's repeat the trick on Saturday against a woeful Burton.

Neves was sexual, his Mrs is a very lucky lady

Doherty was great too

Reading looked very poor compared to us

Just hope Jota isn't too badly injured

I said to my mate that Saturday was villas cup final and had been what they'd been focusing on. Now that's past what's their next target and how do they get themselves up again for the next matches

Hope Jota isn't that badly injured, but the fact is we can cope this season if we lose one of our key players

Cav back in or can play MGW there - we are not significantly weaker

Wasn't the case last year which is why we ended up that far down the table

Just to double check, no booking for Saiss tonight right? So he's in the clear for the rest of the season?

Bennett received our only card on the night.

I thought the ref was decent tonight. I think the booking for Bennett was because he'd got away with one earlier.

Bennett was sensational tonight. So so good. Fantastic on the ball as well

What was the atmosphere like?

Ref was good tonight, but also not like there were many decisions that needed to be made. It was one of the most chill matches I've seen us play this season, once the first goal went in at least.

Not sure Jota's injury is too serious, hopefully - on the WolvesTV stream the physios were able to rotate and extend his ankle and it seemed to work OK, the injury itself looked to be concentrated on his lower shin, and if it was a fracture I don't think he'd be able to flex an ankle considering how the muscles attach and connect around that part of the body. My guess is something muscular, sore, bruised, or (worst case) ripped tendon of some kind.

Great win, could've been really nervy and sticky tonight but we were patient and probed and felt the goal was coming after Costa's shot and the goalkeeper making an excellent save from a header at the back stick.

After that it really was a procession. Reading are putrid, utterly devoid of anything. Time wasting after 15 minutes for fuck sake.

Neves is simply sensational. Imagine this lad when he's a 28 year old man? The fact he still has things to learn is frightening and for me ultimately the reason we won't be able to keep him for much more than another two years. His development will outpace ours.

Credit to Doherty, two good finishes and looked sharp, Bennett is becoming a real favourite of mine, he's everything Batth wishes he was. My opinion was Batth max when he joined but he really is different class.

With the QPR result it's as you were and makes Villa's win worthless.

Bring on Burton.
