Wolves 3-0 Sheff Utd: FA Cup 3rd Rd - Verdict Thread

Enjoyed the game, Pod, Fabio, Neves and Semedo all really good.
First half, Marcal and RAN were all over the place defensively, when Max went over that side, RAN settled down, lovely pass for the second.
Donk and Traore were terrible, thought Sanderson was gunna come on as he warned up for the whole of half time...he couldn't have been worse than Marcal/Donk.
Absolutely chuffed for Semedo, I've been saying for weeks that he has no self confidence going forward but he really wanted that pass, ran at full pace for 60 yards to get onto the pass.
While Adama was appalling, he gets no protection at all, constantly fouled, also Neves regularly got fouled after the ball had gone, nothing said.
Looked a pen on Pod first half from where we were sat. Raul looked miles offside for the 3rd.

Thought the same, Sanderson looked like he was coming on. Would have been nice to have a look as the neither of the other 2 look the answer there.

Am I the only one that thought Adama had a decent game today..
I didn't think he was as bad as some are making out but his shot in the first half was shockingly bad. No excuse for not hitting the target from there and it typifies him in front of goal.

I'm now at the point where a significant part of me is more than happy to see him go just to see if a different manager can get more end product out of him. I think I know the answer but having it confirmed would in some way be a relief. There's also a small part of me, shrinking by the game, that still thinks he offers something, mainly when used as a sub but I'll console myself that we're not in the position to tie up £20m of talent on the bench for 18 months and watch his value rapidly diminish to nothing.

I’ve died on plenty of hills defending Adama but Christ Almighty he was shite today.
Yeah I've been happy to live with his deficiencies for the few flashes of genius but I'm done after today, lack of application, poor on the ball for the most part, ball watching, poor workmate, he went through his whole repertoire of crapness....get rid.
I'm starting to feel the same about Donk too, thought he was terrible in midfield and not much better at CB, looked like he was running in treacle (more than usual) and turned slower than a canal barge.

Easy win. Never really got out of third gear - though we were in 1st gear for the 1st 10 and nearly conceded because of that.

Podence is showing what a clever player he is and Fabio had a really good game, lovely assist for the 1st goal.

Delighted for Semedo to score, perhaps it'll give him a boost if he finds himself in a similar situation over the next few games.

As for Adama... Perhaps the worst he's played for us? For those who dislike Adama, I saw your reasons today! I thought he'd have been a real threat against Sheffield United, lower league opposition and (probably) aiming for a move to another club. Today was a really lethargic performance from him.
I made a conscience effort to watch everything traore did today. He was really poor

Yeah with you. Won’t be getting a stamp on my Adama club card today

I don’t usually comment, and am genuinely a Traore fan, more in hope than expectation, but anything North of £20m and we should seriously consider now.
With Jonny, Neto and Mosquera all making progress, they will feel like new signings in the next couple of months anyway, so take the Adama money and reinvest in that CH/ ACM we certainly need in this window.
This may see us secure 7th or 8th with the way we’re playing, which we can build on in the Summer

Strange game, felt comfortable and vulnerable all at once. Glad we took our chances and sorted out the stupid mistakes that nearly cost us goals. I thought RAN improved immeasurably once Marcal went off.

Hopefully Podence can build some consistency, everytime he's started building some momentum it feels like he gets a knock and it's lost. I hope we get a prolonged run out of him now.

Thought Fabio was good, good running, some nice touches and an assist, unlucky to score what would have been a wonderful goal, not willing to go overboard on his performance but if he can keep it up 10-20 minutes here or there it'll do him and us a lot of good.

Ruddy did what was asked of him without fuss, I was wary of him having increased ball at his feet but he did okay and even looked to get us counter attacking with a couple or long throws so he's definitely taking on board how we want our keepers to play.

Pleased for Somedo, he's had a few chances he's fluffed so maybe it will settle him going forwards, wonderful from Pod to get RAN away, really neat turn before releasing it. Hopefully we can get a few more involvements from both wing backs.

Now, the only real negative. Adama can get in the bin. He was objectively awful today. Flat footed, disinterested and not on the same planet nevermind wave length with those around him. Thats before you chuck in his standard parks player shooting. I'd take whatever anybody would offer and fuck him off now. I've generally been live and let live with him,, you know what you're getting but that performance today was angering because his whole body language was that of somebody who has checked out.

Much was made about Man United being individuals rather than a team and Adama is precisely that, an individual who contributes nothing to the team. Whenever we speak about him it's about what he does on his own, never what he contributes to the team, i.e. goals or assists.

Lots of positives and a favourable draw in the 4th. Let's give it a real go.
