Wolves 3-1 Southampton: Verdict Thread

Jonny is my favourite player from recent years, top quality fb, really good wb, not sure he offers enough going forward to oust RAN but obviously he's a much better defender.
He's a better overall defender than Semedo but not as quick or athletic.
Personally I'd use all three on rota, depending on fitness and opposition.

I loved him in that PSG game.
He stood out like a sore thumb in that Angers side, they got absolutely mullered but ran that left side the whole game and never looked out of his depth. He's going to be some player.

I think he is one where we will be lucky to keep him for more than a couple of years unless we really progress. PSG want him already.

I've had a couple of other fans say VAR gifted us that one as he got a touch on the ball.

Ignoring the fact he wiped the player out afterwards. It was unlucky, but a penalty nonetheless.
It's nonsense, the guy did get to the ball first and knocked it away but only by a small amount...RAN would have still got to it if he hadn't been cleaned out....stone wall as they get imo

Not sure about that. The ball was behind RAN by the time he got wiped out. I’m just grateful we finally got a penalty and it set us on our way.

Shouldn’t have been surprised to see the MOTD pundits saying it was soft. They really do hate giving us credit.

Not seen it slowed down, at the game it was absolutely nailed on. Raul took the ball and stood with it on the penalty spot for 4 mins. Even with the delights of VAR it seemed inevitable we'd get it

I said that to the couple who sit next to me. As soon as it became a long decision I was confident we were going to get it.

Semedo is probably a bit better on the ball than Johnny but Johnny is probably more direct.

Either way, we could have still got the ball and he was nailed.
Usually tend to agree with Shearer but he's wrong on this......don't think he was paying much attention to some games cos he was still fuming about Newcastle and had to work on his reaction to their abjectness.

Personally thought Jonny was very good in possession. His intelligence and movement were first rate. IMO he is better than Semedo in every category bar athleticism, but athleticism is a pretty important characteristic for a WB.

Would that be the same Alan Shearer who is fairly open about his bias ( no complaints on loyalty) who happened to move to Southampton when he was 16, spent 6 years there and made his name there before a big money move by any chance?

It said Faith and Believe and a black raised fist with the colors of the Malian flag on the right, Spanish flag on twitter left.

It's just a gesture. My little gesture. My way of thanking all those who have fought, and continue to fight, against racism. Those who have inspired me to keep the faith and follow my dreams. I encourage everyone, even when in doubt, to have faith as well and to keep going after your dreams. ✊🏾
