Wolves 4-0 Watford - Verdict Thread

Did they use the Jacqui Oatley commentary (that was on the streams)? I thought she was OK; barely concealed her delight at Foster's miserable night and actually laughed at the SB wanker gestures when he was nearly lobbed the second time. As for the so-called analyst David Whoever, well, 'I have to say' he was fucking useless.
Yes it is more him that's doing my head in, I wish she'd stop encouraging him though 😤. Just seen the Neves goal. Class.

watford were appalling as has been said, but we needed to see intensity, and dare I say it, a level of even pashun from our players. and we got that.

Boly was immense after an initial 5 mins. Loved watching him bringing the ball out of defence - we've really missed that. Kilman does it occasionally, bt not to the level Boly does.
Johnny absolutely superb.
RAN had a very very good game also.
Watford did learn I thought. After HT they pressed a tiny bit for about 5 mins, then reverted to type. As someone else said, we could have scored more. Was desperate for a 5th purely on the basis foster was in goal. Bet he hasn't logged onto his social media today.
Neves and Moutinho had so much space. If you allow them to turn, they're gonna fuck you up and they did.
Podence had one of his better games, and Hwang wasn't terrible (afraid that's the best I can say for him).
Raul was pumped up tonight, and to my mind we saw a reaction from him. It's performances like that which make me believe in him again. Needs to do it more consistently though, and glad to see him make the ball stick.

Goes to show the benefits of getting the wide players close to raul!

BBC comms had Curtis Davies on it, he was good, and both he and the main comms seemed to take great delight in the stick Foster was getting.

Davies was on the pitch for Neves's goal against Derby, and was purring over his goal last night.

The commentator was at the Neves/Derby game too. We should invite them to every home game!

Hwang wasn't terrible (afraid that's the best I can say for him).
Hwang was key for us yesterday. Not so much with the ball, although grabs an assist. His movement was superb and he created so much space for RAN. He covered in the centre when Raul moved out. yes he occasionaly has a 1st first touch that goes further than we could pass it v Palace but he played a huge part in how got the ball out wide last night.

Special mention to the watford fan dressed as a banana who was slightly worse for wear.

I thought Podemce and Jonny connected really well in the first half (couldn't see them much the second) we've really missed Jonny, just hope his injury issues are behind him as he's a quality player.

Pretty obvious that was going to happen seeing as I couldn’t make it. Still managed to watch the whole game though and enjoyed every second.
Of course it was obvious. I got covid and missed my first home match (crowd resrictions excepted) for about 4 years. I did manage to watch it though through a blinding headache and gushing nose.

Just watched the highlights again, got to say I don't see much wrong with Jiménez's 2nd goal. If that's ruled out then Ivan Toney's goal against us should be as well.

Raúl's first is a superb finish as well.

There’s an obvious pull of the shirt by Boly but I don’t know how much it impacts the defender. I can see why it’s been given.

Ref struggled with consistency throughout, though.

Understatement there
England was poor

The team could have gone one way or another after Lage's blowdryer last weekend - glad it went the right way and they set out to prove him wrong!

Just goes to show we have a cracking team when the intensity is there.

You really should watch the replay if you can. After the torture of the last few games it's sheer luxury for the eyes. I might put it on a loop for my screensaver.
I've seen the highlights, hopefully find some extended highlights.
Some people suggested some of the goals were lucky, all looked like good football leading up to them to me, obviously Foster shanking a clearance helped but good pressing to force it.

I don't disagree. Quality wise Hwang is a bit suspect, but he never hides, shows for the ball, chases down the opposition.
There is a certain lack of quality, but the endeavour was there, and what we all needed to see was endeavour.
The crowd were onside early too, and the early goal really helped I think.

I'd also add that he and Raul seemed to me to work better together. I felt Hwang and Raul covered each other/interchanged a lot. Podence had more freedom.

I think thats what is so confusing. If we start on the back foot we stay on it and vice versa. The difference between palace and Watford approaches was enormous

I couldn't see in the ground but what was the free kick given for from the corner where we put the ball in the net (obviously disallowed but couldn't see what for)
I can't see how VAR didn't overturn it. Just watched the extended highlights and it is really minor

Great performance tonight but especially encouraged by Jonny, Boly and Neto - its like they've never been away. Very enjoyable night and great to see some goals and what a performance by B4n F0ster!

Seeing them both back in the side felt like old times and really seemed to make a difference, Boly has to stay in and if he can keep fit I hope we see him again next season, vintage stuff.

Watford were terrible, maybe they will sack Roy and appoint another dinosaur like Big Sam to see them through to the end of the season.

The abuse of Foster was worth the admission alone, great that Pod capitalised on his first half error and would have been highly amusing if he had got the one in the second half too.

Neves goal was truly the icing on the cake to a great evening and so needed after the dross against Palace

We will all moan about Hwangs first touch, however as Kenny said above he gives so much space around him. The shit from certain quarters around his play is a little OTT for me.

I purred at Jonny again what he's been through and to immediately kick on where he left off. Same with Willy, the man is a beast and keeping him and Jonny fit will be key for a Europa place. Onto Neto, all he needs now is his 10 yards back and he's gaining that match after match, the skill is there and so will the burst.

Neves. What can I say, best midfielder in that role by far for me, he oozes class and time on the ball, moves balls easily and finishes like a god. Man I'll be so sad if he leaves in the summer, will for me put the club back a bit.
