Wolves Academy Thread

Harkin! What a start. This team plays really excellent football. I agree Cundle and Campbell aren't gonna help us be a top half Premier League team yet but I'd be having them on the outskirts of the squad

Harkin is on a really good run and is a decent footballer. His size is always going to count against him sadly.

Yeah he doesn't seem to have a great amount of power or speed sadly which he'd need for top level senior football

1-1. Very easy to beat that offside trap

Lembikisa doesnt get enough pressure on the ball and Mosquera doesn't adjust his position for the lack of pressure so can't keep with the run

2-1 just before half time. Cundle from a Bueno cross (his second assist of the game)

Yeah, I imagine we will loan him, possibly even to Grasshoppers next season.

I don't watch anything other than the clips put up on the U23 games, but it's all just so slow paced

It’s been a decent game to be fair. It’s not the same partly due to the age of most of the players and but I think also the lack of people who attends. Do think an atmosphere helps.

Can you expand on this please Tony as I haven’t seen him for the u23s.
I don't watch them, just the social media clips, but he hits the box and finishes. Looks like either a mobile 8 or a deep 10 on that. Not the new Moutinho to act as a metronome in your midfield. YW will be the one to give you a proper debrief

I watched more of the u23s earlier season and Cundle looked comfortable anywhere in midfield, picking the ball up from the centre backs, ticking over in midfield and useful around the box.

I think having players like Griffiths & Hodge return from injury along with Perry coming back have allowed Cundle to play further forward, and don't he look good doing it!

Agree with Andy think he can play any of the roles. Think as he gets older (and stronger) he'll play a bit deeper.

The reason he's playing further forward for the U23s is because he's outgrown the level tbh. Same as Perry

I like the youth route but look at the journey Gibbs-White has been on to get to where he is this season, where people are still undecided if he is good enough to start in the Prem but he looks excellent in the Champ.

Many of the current 1st team prospects look at minimum 3 seasons off being a regular contributor.

If you want MGW to play for Wolves next season then you'd better hope Sheff Utd stay down as there isn't a hope in hell we'd knock back £20m from them

I feel like 21-23 is when players start to make a name / reputation for themselves.

It feels like mgw has been here for ages!
