Wolves Academy Thread

Absolutely battered them before they scored out of nowhere. Should have been 3-0 up.

We also just don't keep players hanging around to play in the 23s if we can help it. We could easily have fielded Giles, Sanderson and Ennis every week, but it proves nothing and isn't going to help them.

It also damages the progression opportunities of other players

So whilst I agree with a lot of that - we signed Marques and Campbell previously, Hubner and Lonwijk last year, I’m just surprised we’ve not made any more signings of that ilk to strengthen the junior sides, especially in the attacking positions. I guess Matheson is one this year but he was arranged previously.

it doesn’t have to be at the expense of first team signings (you can sign for both levels), and some of our u23’s don’t seem to me to be of the level we would want going forwards.

I guess / hope we are planning to bring more of our youth through.

You won't hear about kids like that when we sign them typically. Marques was only 15 when he came here for instance. Campbell was 12.

We heard about both of them at the time. And Barnett when he was signed, plus the Dutch boys, sondergaard, the Icelandic keeper - it’s not always the club communicating but it tends to come out.

or are you saying we’ve probably signed some similar types of youngsters but not announced or played them yet?

The latter really. If they're playing U14s or whatever you'll never know. Not immediately anyway.

We heard about Campbell and Barnett as Blues started crying about it. Get a proper Academy then rather than that shitheap.

I hope you’re right. We’ve tended to find out about most of them from articles in their respective nations newspapers way before the club announce them though.

It's Vitinha and Otasowie either side of Cundle. Shabani and Corbeanu up top.

Little of note really hapenned. Corbeanu has had some decent touches, he likes to drift wide and run at players. Quick player but strong too. Vitinha not done too much yet, Shabani similar.

Vitinha starting to influence/control the game now. Can see the quality. Might need to be patient with him to adapt to pace of Premier League is all.

been all Wolves possession wise but struggling to break them down....

I have very high hopes for Vitinha, but perhaps we might have got more from MGW in the short term?

It's free for STHs and Members on Wolvestv

I've paid 3 quid on Palace's one because I am a very sad individual

MGW absolutely needed games (shame about the injury of course), so maybe he would have given us more immediately but he wouldn't have played much either as it was

1-0 Palace btw, Benteke with a lovely finish - last kick of the half. Shabani lost a challenge on the half way line and they broke and scored. Very undeserved! Just before Vitinha came close to scoring with a really good chance. Should have scored but he arrived at the perfect time in the box from Bueno's cross tbf

2-0 right after half time. Amazing considering how they have dominated
