Wolves Academy Thread

Think we'll get a better option than Ruddy in as #2 with Sondergaard on loan with a view to sell.

Some kind of u18 game is on wolves tv / youtube tonight, i think it's a cup game.

The u18s have been doing really well this season so it'll be interesting to see how they get on

Lonwijk, Marques, Matheson and Bueno all turning out for the U18's.

1-0 down, awful goal to concede

gave the ball away on the half way line (from our own free kick) and overloaded.

3-1 down, another break. Our three centre backs and bueno are all highly rated, but I’d say Norwich have only had 4 attacks and they’ve scored 3.

Bueno is class, it does feel like whenever Norwich attack they'll score. I really don't think the scoreline reflects the game though

Only Marques and Mathewson who have impressed me tbh. We look the better team but haven’t created that much.

harkin is working hard but isn’t in the box much

I can see this ref making it in the premiership.

he’s about two stone overweight and fucking awful.

The Norwich u18 manager - their plan worked perfectly.

"We always thought it was going to be difficult to break them down," explained Weaver. "They (Wolves) are very strong down the middle, throughout the club. You see that in the first team and in their under-23s and playing their under-18s.

"We just felt that we’d try and keep it from going down the middle and try and attack with a bit of purpose down the sides. And to get it down there early to get one of their centre-backs out which worked. If you look at all four goals it came from stuff that we had worked on. To be fair to the lads, they executed the plan and it was good win and the goals were good as well."

Perhaps a derivative of playing the same system throughout the age groups? Do we recruit with that in mind or force it a bit? A disappointing result given we pushed players who have outgrown that level down to play.

Weaver's an ex wolf, probably wanted to get one over on his old club.

Indeed. Was part of the Taffia when we decided that nicking all of Wrexham's backroom staff was the key to success.

(Narrator: It wasn't)
