FT 2-0.

Promoted to PL2 Div1. I think the u23s will play in a European cup competition next season too.

Well done lads!

Went tonight (I'd forgotten what a home victory is like so thought I'd have one last crack this season...). Easy win really. Stoke started OK but were never in it after we scored. Cracking strike by Cundle for the second. Bueno looked a cut above all game so let's get him a decent loan next season (we have three first team options there if Jonny stays and Giles comes back). Hodge looks a tidy player but a way off senior football yet. Hard to judge too much as there was a pretty clear gulf in quality between the two sides.

What sort of level do you think Bueno could be up for? I missed this evening but was impressed by him last I watched. Part of me thinks a good attacking L1 side would be better for him than a middle to average Championship one.

L1 for now is a good shout. Just regular football in an attacking team will do to start with.

Hubner is a unit but a bit agricultural at times, he could do L1/L2.

Sarkic played in nets and looked good without having much to do.

Not much changing here but just officially taking responsibility off of Sellars for the Academy. Weird that we kinda ran without an academy manager for a year

Not just that but they actually mentioned this the other day already in another article!

"Jon Hunter-Barrett, Wolves Academy manager for football, said: “We always say at Wolves that we like to reward people when they do a good job, whether they’re a player or member of staff."

That article went out on the 10th! and is the one about the trio of players signing new deals.

Not that it should make any difference to us with the players we tend to pick (you're allowed five overage players at any one time too), but the PL Academy leagues are reverting to U21s rather than U23s.

I think this is a good idea. At 22/23 if you haven’t made the step up into the first team squad, at whatever grade you play at, then a move to find your level is probably for the best.
I do think we should make better use of the overage player rule and those in and around the 1st team but with not many minutes or returning for injury should use this option. There is no way a squad player like Dendonker can ever be ‘match fit or ready’ playing limited minutes on rare occasions.

U21's will play Port Vale, Shrewsbury and Stockport in the Pizza Trophy

Jack Scott was meant to be on loan for all of 2022, so he's clearly been recalled.

New academy scholar intake should also be announced soon.
