After today’s second half, I’d go -

Rui
Semedo Donk Coady Saiss (or Marcal) Jonny
Neves Vitinha
Neto Silva Traore

----------------------Rui------------
Semedo--Donck/Coady---Saiss----Jonny
------------Vitinha-----Neves------
------Neto------MGW------Traore
-------------------WJ------------

Phillips is the key for them. When he doesn't play they lose

Damn. With my 100% win and correct team selection ratio, I should have started this thread 🤣

If we set up any differently to the second half today Nuno deserves sacking!

------------------Rui------------
Semedo--Coady---Saiss----Jonny
------------Vitinha-----Neves------
Neto---Podence(if fit)/MGW--Traore
------------------WJ------------

Why bother with the back 3? That didn't have any impact on the second half improvement
It gives Nuno his defensive comfort blanket! We played better in the second half today than we have for months so let's build on it. Don't mind changing odd individual but keep the formation.

What id like

Rui
Semedo Coady Saiss Jonny
Vitinha Donck (holding) Neves
Neto WJ Adama

What we'll get

Rui
Semedo Donk Coady Saiss Jonny
Neves Mout
Neto WJ Adama

What might work

Rui
Semedo Donk Coady Kilman Jonny
Neves Saiss
Neto WJ Adama

Saiss has not played in CM for nearly 3 years now, looked very good at LCB today and Kilman has not.

Leeds will be very tough to beat, really like how they play football

They are and so do i. But they are certainly beatable if you play them the right way, as we already proved.
We have to go with the same team and same formation and press as the second half just gone. It would great to go a 4 at the back, and i think we have the players fit to do it, but let's just get properly safe first before we fuck about with formations.
My thoughts are that we should be able to change formations for the opposition, but clearly the players can't adapt to that yet.

Leeds tend to lose to anyone half decent and dispatch of the Shite. We play anything like we’re capable of and we will win

Leeds run around like maniacs but keep our heads and we can do what Arsenal have just done. They are awful defensively but we need to attack to make that count. Play like first half we lose 3-0, play like second half and we could easily win 3-0.

I'd still rather play 4 at the back but after today some continuity of ideas is required IMO.

So for that reason we should go 3-4-2-1:

Rui

Donk - Coady - Marcal

Semedo - Vitinha - Neves - Jonny

Neto - Traore

Jose

But of course it'll be the same XI barring any injuries. Let's just hope the set-up is the second half version from today and we don't revert back to 3-4-3.

This team for me, but would be happy with Saiss at LCB too.

I thought Saiss had a good game today, harsh to drop him.

Apart from Saiss I think your team is the one I'd pick. João was poor today and looked shattered. Don't fancy him taking on that mobile Leeds midfield.

Think attack would be the best form of defence against the "dirty" Leeds and still want to see more energy in midfield, so 4-2-1-3:
-------------Rui-------------------
--Jonny--Donk--Saiss--Marcal---
--------Otasowie--Neves----------
------------Vitinha-----------------
----Adama---Jose----Neto--------

I'm giving up on 4 at the back for now, don't think Nuno will change much for a while.
Wouldn't mind this team but its a bit hard on Saiss, he's probably been our best CB recently. However It'll be same as today surely, we've got nearly a full week off so Nuno will stick...........might start with Silva instead of Jose?

I can't see that. They have 4 days on the training pitch this week. Probably the most consecutive days they have had for a while, and the temps are supposed to be 11 to 13 deg c. That will help too. Hopefully they work on WJ's positioning.
