After another masterclass from Hwang and Trincao. I want to see if I’m just being very short sighted/reactionary.

Has there ever been worse signings for Wolves? (assuming we trigger Trincao, Barca have us by the ball now so I think we will so they pay for Traore).

Johnson and O’Hara spring to mind. But not a single person would have been against them at the time. O Hara had a good loan spell and Johnson had a good season and we didn’t have the luxury of ‘try before you buy’. In hindsight it was obvious why he did well at Blues (deep line, good GK, decent DMs protecting) and obviously sometimes signings just don’t work out.

Cutrone another. The scouting on that one is truly horrific.

I think Hwang and Trincao trump all these though. Are their any worse?

Paul Blades, Darren Ward, Frankowski, Roussel, Gladon, Mason, Atkins, Helan, Holt, Sagbo, Pennant (fuck off Jez you cunt), Dowe, Leon, Eastwood, Small, Zubar the list is as long as Mr Tickle's arms.

Now we can comfortably add Cutrone, Hwank and Trincao to that list.

In summary, there are A LOT of worse signings than Trincao and Hwang. Hwang has actually won us some points this season. Many of the above could barely complete a pass, let alone score goals in the Prem.

A lot of those cheap and on loan. Signing Hwang is like watching Pennant be garbage and then still paying £5m for him.

It’s truly one of the most baffling piece of business I’ve ever seen. And I don’t even think I know one person who thinks differently!

Frankowski, Roussel, Atkins (who got better) and Eastwood weren't cheap, not relative to where we were at the time and what clubs around us were spending.

Of course not, hence why I said “a lot” not “all”.

Rousell wasn’t bad on paper, scored a few goals in the PL. Frankowski had success everywhere he’d been and the fee wasn’t big. Eastwood also a decent record and reasonable fee.

Spiers did a piece last week on historic costs reflected by football inflation. Corica was £15m.
