Notice I'm putting this in the 'General Chatter' forum rather then the 'Other Sport' section, because I know some smart ass will come on and say "Its all fake..."

But I see 'The Rock' has returned to WWE this week.

I haven't watched it in years but I grew up watching WWE/WWF and 'The Rock' was certainly one of my favourites.

I MIGHT be tempted to give it another go and see how my impression of it's all changed over the years.

Any closet WWE fans out there?

I must admit that a good few years back, my two lads watched it. They liked Brett "the hitman" Hart, The Ultimate Warrior, and of course "The Undertaker"

Though I never owned up to it, I did like "Doink the Clown"

And you two were ELECTED moderators?!

Shame on you.

As The Rock would say - 'I will lay the smack down on your roody poo candy ass.' Whatever that means.

The Rock
The Undertaker
Stone Cold Steve Austin

They were my favourite three. I remember watching a match as a kid when The Undertaker beat Hulk Hogan who everyone absolutely loved. There were kids crying in the audience and you could hear a pin drop.

I don't really want to bring up this phrase so soon after the demise of a certain sub-forum... but 'those were the days' ;)

I liked the Ultimate Warrior when I was younger, as well as The Undertaker. Andre the Giant and Earthquake were great bad guys, as well as Kane. I am sure it is a great night out but the idea of PPV for wrestling is just bizarre.

Ted Dibiase the Million Dollar Man
Brutus the barber Beefcake
Dusty Rhoads
Ravishing Rick Rude
Jake the Snake Roberts
Ricky the Dragon Steamboat
The British Bulldog Davey Jones
The Hart Foundation
Mankind
Mr Perfect

christ I can remember quite a few of them!

I would have thought you, like me, would have been more of a Mick McManus and Jackie Pallo man.

The good lady always liked , "The Mountie".. I think maybe it was the uniform.

Tatanka
Ric Flair
Shawn Michaels
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Jerry The King Lawler

The Mountie was hilarious!!!

Jesse the Body Ventura - brilliant in predator as well of course
Bobby Heenan
Yokozuna
Gerry the King Lawler - no relation to DJ Kate
Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth
Jimmy the superfly Snuka
Sean Michaels
Vader

jesus - it is all coming back

Mountie? Defo before my time. I know most of the wrestlers mentioned above from watching old cassette videos borrowed off various mates as i was growing up. A few of them were still wrestling when i first got in to it but most of them were done, dusted and knackered I'm afraid! I guess my 'era' included the rock, stone cold, kurt angle, rikishi, eddie guerrerro, chris jericho, triple h, chris benoit, big show...

Yes. But can you smell what he's cooking?

I wouldn't mess with him. Fake or not! By all accounts, I remember him on Jonathan Ross a year or two ago when he'd just hit hollywood and he came across as an extremely polite, well mannered and amusing bloke. Which can't be said for most Americans...

I've been instructed to respond thus "YES...BECAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO!"

*cracks open beer and downs it on the top rope*

Was it the British Bulldog who sadly passed away following an accident in the ring? They really do push their bodies to the extreme.

Can't believe noone has mention Hulk Hogan or The Bushwakers. I was about 15 when I used to watch it.

Frank/Doog, Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks? I used to watch them with my gran when I was about 7.
