WWE/WWF

Vince has stepped back from CEO role, with Stephanie taking over as interim CEO.

Vince being investigated for alleged hush money payments to a female ex-employee, up to $3m
After retiring in July of 2022… according to the Wall Street Journal. “Mr Mcmahon has reappointed himself to the board (due to the fact he still holds majority voting power) under the intention to sell the business” (Link)

So effectively Vince has forced his way back in charge to sell WWE.

Don't think this is fully accurate. He's trying to force his way back in, but don't think it's that easy.

He has forced his way back in and is appointed to the board.

Really? Not seen anything today, was going off what I'd read yesterday
Yeah, back on the board as of yesterday. Wall Street Journal are the ones keeping the updates going. WWE’s stock has gone through roof due to the potential sale.

Stephanie McMahon resigns.
Vince is back as executive Chairman of the Board. Dazn are running a story saying WWE has been sold to the Saudi PIF

Edit: it’s apparently bs

ROH tag team champion Jay Briscoe died yesterday in a car crash aged 38. He is best known for his contribution to his tag team with his Brother & had in my opinion Tag team match of the year with FTR in there dog collar match.

The Genius Lanny Poffo has passed away at age 68. He is best known for his run in WWF as the genius and for his poetry. He is the brother of the late Macho Man Randy Savage

Not a good few days for Wrestling with the passing of Terry Funk aged 79 and Bray Wyatt aged 36

Read not so long ago that Bray Wyatt was recovering from a life threatening condition. Such sad news

This thread seldom brings any good news does it?

Very rarely sadly.

When my boys were young they got into wrestling and on the weekends that I had them we would watch "Friday Night Smackdown".

So many of the "stars" from those years a no longer with us and it has to have a lot to do with medication, head injuries or drugs/steroids in general. Something that wrestling is trying to address but too late for the older generation

I was sat thinking about this week in wrestling being what should be a triumphant week for everyone has been a solum one. Bray was on the cusp of a comeback so waking up to see the news is quite sad and shocking.

Obviously it’s the big AEW: All in show this weekend at Wembley with a record attendance of over 81,000 tickets distributed so hopefully a decent show will turn the solum week around.

Really Enjoyed today’s Wrestling from Wembley and they’ve announced a second show for next year at Wembley!
