YouTube embedding

Might be my end. I tried looking through Edge and it asks for permission to allow Flash, then it'll show the embedded links.

Opera may have updated and blocked the lot (tbf, Flash is a fucking relic).

I could just find a different browser. But I've been an Opera man since about 2006 :D And I never have to sign into anything, ever...

Easy test would be to ask who can see the Don Goodman videos embedded and what browser you're on?

When you posted the videos they were not working on Tapatalk. They are now

Restarted everything and still no good here through Opera.

This is what you get on Edge:

Click, say yes and it will embed it.

It's odd as I've checked all the settings and Opera should allow Flash. Sometimes it would ask me to unblock content when it was an embedded video but now it's just not having it.

I think there is a way to embed YouTube videos as HTML5 rather than Flash? I wouldn't know where to even start though.

It's not a dealbreaker obviously. It's just better than having unlabelled links, people will click on play where they can see it's "Don Goodman's top five goals" or whatever. They won't just click on random YouTube links.

DW - Looks to me like the flash plugin for that specific site is off in the browser. It happens to me sometimes even though Flash is already enable in the overall settings.

On Chrome (which the new Edge is based). I go to the page with the vid, click on the icon to the left of the address bar, then scroll down to the option for Flash (or Settings if that's not showing) and make sure its on.

Rob has put a couple up now on another thread and I can see them, so maybe it's fixed itself. Computers do weird things sometimes.

We'll see next time I have a go...

Nope. Still not working, just defaults to a link (although if I go to edit the post, it's still there in the tags as it should be).

Flash is enabled on this site, as I say I can see ones that other people have posted, I don't seem to be able to do it myself but I'm not doing anything different to the other hundreds of times I've done it, as recently as last week.

Mysterious.

Right, it's weird. But had a look at LJ's post (even if it is RHCP ;) ) and it's popping up in a new format now.

So, [video] tags round the URL, then video = youtube;<video ID> (without the spaces) in the first tag.

Actually if you press the "Insert Video" button and paste the link in, it does it all for you.

Ah, right... I've always used the "insert video" link
