I don't understand how he ever passes a medical. The guy is a less muscular Ade Akinfenwa.

To be fair it is a lot to ask a professional footballer to run two days on the trot Doesnt he appreciate what a fortunate individual he is, I have always liked DiCanio but I like him even more now !!

Hi DW, never knew Matthew Barnes-Homer was an ex-wolf? Was he released as a youth?
Scored quite a few for Luton last year, wish they had won promotion.

    Hello mate.

Indeed he was. We let him go in about 2003/2004. Probably in the same youth team as Leon Clarke, that era.

just seen Di-Canio on sky talking about the Leon Clarke incident - Di Canio came across amazingly badly for me, slagging Clarke off. Should have transfer listed him and kept quiet in my view.

He has absolutely blasted him. Fair play, I say. Clarke is a fat lazy bastard with a shocking attitude and he seriously needs a rocket up his arse - if he were playing for my club, I'd rip up his contract as my first act as manager.

Clarke has probably just 'bratted' himself out of any potential moves. Wanker.

I agree with Premier Quality, Mr Di Canio should have kept the matter within the Club.

Although I don't feel any malice for ex-Wolves players like Clarke, he really doesn't do himself any favours. KFC Telford and a strike partnership with Proudlock beckons.

I actually feel a bit sorry for him. Di Canio behaved properly after that game, but shouldn't have slagged him off in the media the way he did after.

So he will get to grace the turf of White Hart Lane again - they've got Spurs in the Europa League. Assuming Rovers haven't binned him by then.

Fair point. I've noticed Tomasz Frankowski has scored a few recently for Jagellionia, maybe we could re-sign him instead?

Leon Clarke was treated unfairly by Wolves fans. He was too young and inexperienced to take a more phlegmatic approach (like Wardy for example) to barracking and when he raised a finger to silence idiots it brought about his downfall. He has faults, is never going to be a top player, but has earned a decent living from the game. He can still score good goals and despite his human frailties he will continue to do well enough. Not every player that fails to enchant Wolves fans is a cunt.

No comment on here recently about Elliot Bennet for Norwich. He is playing very well.

Disagree. He got what he deserved.

He thought he could stroll around the pitch with minimal effort because the fans once sang his name. When the fans demanded he actually try.......he did less and then did his "shush" celebration after scoring a tap in.

He wanted the fans support......well he had to earn it and show at least more than the 0.1% of effort he was putting in. He then swans around Wolverhampton, surrounded by "mates" who lord it up to him because they have a free meal ticket (works on both levels because Leon had a Gold Card for McDonalds that got him free meals)

He lasted a whole 5 months under Mick because he couldn't be bothered....he has since floated around the football league and at each club he gets the same reaction. Regardless of Di Canio's actions on the pitch the other week for a player to walk off the pitch swearing because he has been asked to do some training is a disgrace and sums up his career to date.

We had Craig Davies with us, who probably had less talent that Leon but he got on ok with the fans. Why? because he worked his bollocks off game in game out

I think the Wolves fans got this one right (for once).

Where is he now? Oh yeah, in the lower reaches of League One with the wrong attitude, the fat mess.

The thing is though, the "barracking" is a myth. It never happened. There was widespread discontent at the way we were playing in general but nothing specifically aimed at Clarke (unlike say, Kennedy, who actually got booed after scoring against Crewe). Which made the fat bastard's "shush" gesture all the more stupid. He played the next game against Luton, ideal opportunity to put things right....and he put even less effort in.

Every club he goes to, the fans loathe him.

If I had written that you would have said it was bollox!! He was certainly attacked by the crowd and in wolves forums. His golden boots were even wrong. I think that had he stayed he would have improved in every sense. We'll never know. I dont like to see any talen wasted so good luck to him at Chesterfield. You've got to have something about you to get a hat trick at any level.
