Why would you change the infrastructure for 1 or 2 weeks a year, it doesn't make financial sense to anything different.

Not arguing with that, but it has been the same as long as I can remember. Surely every government hasn't been run by incompetent fools.......amended, you are totally correct...

Exactly, we dont get snow often enough to put any real money towards dealing with it so then we're always going to be stretched for resources when it does actually happen, still better than spunking millions up the wall on a bunch of equipment that could potentially be half way obsolete before it ever gets used.

For what it's worth, I think the reason we fuck it up every time it snows is we never plan or think about the problem in anything but a small town half arsed way. and when it snows the next year, we learn nothing and fuck it up all over again.
Every year you hear the same people in authority coming out with the same shite reasons/excuses they got it wrong as though it was the first time it'd happened!

    They're so surprised...

    Pisses me right off.

And whilst I'm at it, snow is lovely, I love looking at it, but really it only belongs on Christmas cards.
It's a pain in the arse, because of all the above.

In Ireland last year all the motorways were clear, but they never gritted the slip roads, they were full of snow or iced up to fuck, so no one could get on or off the fucking things.

    Pain in the arse.

That is plain stupid Wolf Hunting. What could mildly make them think "oh lets clear the motorways but not the slip roads". Are they really that stupid?

Great place. When you go, the best pub is the Spotted Cow on Ruthven Street, and the best eatery is Picnic Point.

People were driving around the roundabouts looking down onto the clear motorway with the slip roads full of snow and criss crossed with frozen tyre tracks from the last fool who tried to get down the slips onto the clear tarmac.

    Utterly laughable.

I bet it was. We are lucky over here that we have the main roads and all bus routes gritted it's just the sides streets that are dangerous and is enough to cause any trouble. Last year we got so much snow so fast I had to push my brother into pushing my car up the road so I could park it at the top.

Think again Jimbo. My street is off a main bus route and in the 2 winters I have lived here it has never been gritted. Buses on ice is fun to watch (better than celebs thats for sure)

really wow I thought they gritted them, it's nice for the passengers and those who drive the roads but always funny to watch someone try and get their car up a street and it just won't go up.

I wonder if it snows this weekend for the Tv show splash they'll replace the pool with the dancing on ice set.

Well here it comes. Light dusting in Pendeford. I have, of course, prepared my will, and will now take the laptop to the panic room.

I just played football in some light snow in Wednesbury, 4-0, hammered one in from just over the half way line, lovely challenge on some young lad, ball, man, screams of pain, it had everything, great challenge.

Is it in Germany where motorists have to change the tyres on their cars during the winter months.
