Wolves v Huddersfield Town - Langers's Day Out - Matchday Thread

The day has started well. Langers is on probably the poshest train ever to arrive at Wolverhampton. He's so excited, he forgot to start the matchday thread for his regular updates of his day out. Oh, and news about the game too.

I know it's short notice but I'll stick it here too. We have two spare tickets for todays game if anyone has a free afternoon. PM me or just post on here. I guess it's too short notice for you, FDS?

I'm afraid so Darlo. The next plane to Blightly doesn't leave until midnight tonight, just a few minutes after the game will have finished.

    Thanks for the kind offer.

There is a dart board in the western too, I made a point to look for it the other evening after NWW mentioned it. Never seen anyone using it mind.

That's my contribution for the day.

I don't think I have seen anyone use it either. Certainly not on match days but I can't recall it on other nights either.

Massive game. Our last chance to take points off a relegation rival.

I don't envy Dean having to pick this team, we're down to the bare bones now and the players coming back in are the ones that have let us down so many times this season.
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to Hélder Costa

We simply HAVE to win, today. No question about it. Failure to secure three points will put the pressure right back on us, especially after last week's defeat at Bolton.
Win today and we'll almost be safe.
It will be interesting to see who Dean plays up front. I'd like to see Bjorn, but have a feeling he might well start with Cassidy and Doyle. 4-5-1 would be better.
    Prediction: 2-1 to us.

Indeed I will. It will be a very tight game, but I expect Wolves will edge home.

    Thanks mate. I'm honoured!

I'm now supping ale with Paddy. Who is on the dirty lager. Heathen.

Paddy is now telling me about the 'music' he is listening to on his iPhone.

    'Leprosy' by 'Death'.

A philosophical concept album, I'm guessing.

    No standards, that boy.

I have work today, booooo. I don't think Wolves will let me in with a laptop and a massive German dictionary. Nor would my employers be pleased with a sentence that goes "Our mission statement is to provide FOR FUCK'S SAKE DOYLE BLOODY WELL STAND UP". So the forum is stuck with me today, yay.

Why is it that every Saturday at 3 I have to be out somewhere??

Well, I steal my mum's phone and look at Twitter updates but I'm going to be seriously nervous all the same...COYW!!

    Fans of coincidence....

When Wolves were last relegated to the 3rd Division, the last game we won was our home game against Huddersfield Town.

We also played Brighton & HA on 4th May away and lost 1-5 (although it wasn't our last game)

Just get yourself down to Molineux. You're not going to get any work done during the game anyway. And on the odd chance that you do it is still likely to include "Our missing statement is to provide FOR $#@!'S SAKE DOYLE ......."

I'd love to, buddy, but the Swiss overlords that pay for my bohemian lifestyle won't have it. I'll be there for the Hull game.

Big test of the "best young manager in the country" today. Win and he can justifiably claim he's getting somewhere. Lose and despite the credit he's gained for dropping people, he's right back to square one
Prediction 24th January: 14 games to go: 6 wins, 5 draws, 3 defeats - final points 57 when the league finishes in May 2023...

Or maybe Ward and Sigurdarson wide with Doyle up top alone and Hunt central, Saunders has put him there before.
