England need to bat the day through to stand any chance.

England can’t bat. Bowl them out and win the game. The off chance they bat long , the games drawn.

England scores batting first after being put in to bat in Lord's Tests since 2007: 553-5 dec, 593-8 dec, 377, 505, 446, 486, 474-8 dec, 575-9 dec and 389

I'd take the lowest of those in this innings!

It's going to chuck it down on and off on days three, four and five so it is going to be a draw in all likelihood anyway.

Roy you absolute whopper. Ridiculous swish first ball and then an edge to the third. Fucking hell.

And that remains the position today. As the infections increased, deaths mounted, WHO’s travel advice remained essentially unmoved..

Roy flashed at one and missed, played and missed the second ball and edged the third that he didn't need to play at.

Cyber saying absolutely nothing about knowing where your off stump is and knowing what to leave. Nope nothing .
    Carole Baskin is to blame.

It's almost like Roy doesn't look anything like a Test batsman. Who'd have thought it?

This is a morning for absolute pinnacles of patience to take the shine off the new ball, to allow the batsmen to make hay in the sun this afternoon. Roy just doesn't have that in his locker.

    Root out now as well.

You do not need to be a test quality batsman to know where your off stump is or how to leave a ball. Jummy Anderson has better stump awareness than many of our top order as did Jack Leach in his 92. Roys dismissal was as bad a waft/ poke as Jennings or Vince I am afraid.
    Carole Baskin is to blame.

He'd have a chance in the middle order, pointless him opening

We need an opener. If he can't do that then someone else needs to do it, not just shuffle the pack.

Which was pretty much what was agreed by many before the Ireland game. Even then if we are 20/2 its not Roy time though.

Depends on how the middle order perform this Test. Neither Bairstow nor Buttler are safe.

It's not a life when it was missing the stumps by miles is it?

Which one would you replace with Roy?

Neither can I, but I don't think there would be any point in replacing either Buttler or Bairstow with an out of form, inexperienced Test opener, even if they both continue to struggle.

I feel it's too late to be experimenting for this series so I can see them persevering with Roy.
