    Terrible misjudgement.

If he's in for his bowling stick him at 11, he's atrocious at batting.

I think you now have to ask whether he's a better spin option than Leach or not because his batting just isn't a factor at the moment. As Deutsch has pointed out though his recent record at home is very good

This is all going wrong. We'll be lucky to get a lead of 30 here.

Need to somehow get a quick 30/40 runs with these last two wickets. Without it we are in for a one innings game with England having to bat last on a worn pitch.

    FFS Bairstow

Tried to cut a ball that angled into him

Foakes has to come in for Bairstow. Better test style batsman and behind the stumps.

Bairstow is better than this though, Buttler and even Roy realise they need to be more circumspect in tests but Jonny just does crap like that.

This thread is going down the same route as the matchday one.

Just need Cyber to turn up now telling us how one of his 1001 predictions for this game is correct and it'll become unreadable.

Excellent graphics from Atherton showing the Lyons dismissal deliveries and how the variations made the difference.

Of course Mo should pick the subtle variation!

So is this the last batting pair, or is Jimmy going to bat?

Jimmy will bat. He's been seen running this morning. Nothing found on his calf scan.

Good morning session for the Aussies. Entertaining stuff.

Seems like Woakes and Broad have steadied the ship a bit but I cant see the innings lasting much longer.
Looking forward to a good afternoon of cricket, it's a BH weekend here,.got nothing to do today so it's the Ashes all day for me.

Could do with another 30 runs minimum if at all possible. Pretty close game at the moment.

Watching this documentary about the 80s Ashes series on Sky Main Event. Very interesting. All new to me, I only remember the Ashes from the 90's onwards when England were crap.

    Different story in the 80's.

There won't be a feel good factor about cricket again like there was in '81. Way bigger than 2005 or the World Cup win.

80 is a good lead not match winning as a good opening partnership can erase it. If we’re chasing over 200 you’d make Australia favourites.

It's completely in the balance for me. Turning into a bit of a classic test match.

No chance Anderson is going to bowl more than a couple of overs. He can't run.

Can't see him bowling at all. He looked really uncomfortable when batting.
