in other news, this is one of the reasons Leach endears himself to fans of cricket. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/49322966

Doesn't look good for any action today :-(
Toss at 3.00! Play at 3.30! (Rain at 4.00...)
My name is Geoff...
Raining already and the covers coming back on.
Australia win the toss and bowl.
Australia win the Toss and decide to bowl.

The pictures that Denly has of Ed Smith must be good ones as he keeps his place in the team.
Curran is a better batsman, bowler and fielder.
Absolutely stunned Australia have chosen to bowl.

England need to bat the day through to stand any chance.

England can’t bat. Bowl them out and win the game. The off chance they bat long , the games drawn.
As usual, Wolves fans being fickle. - Waggy on the Wing

England scores batting first after being put in to bat in Lord's Tests since 2007: 553-5 dec, 593-8 dec, 377, 505, 446, 486, 474-8 dec, 575-9 dec and 389
I'd take the lowest of those in this innings!
It's going to chuck it down on and off on days three, four and five so it is going to be a draw in all likelihood anyway.

Oh dear.

What an absolute joke.
Roy you absolute whopper. Ridiculous swish first ball and then an edge to the third. Fucking hell.

FFS. All over the shop for those three deliveries.
Roy flashed at one and missed, played and missed the second ball and edged the third that he didn't need to play at.

It's almost like Roy doesn't look anything like a Test batsman. Who'd have thought it?

This is a morning for absolute pinnacles of patience to take the shine off the new ball, to allow the batsmen to make hay in the sun this afternoon. Roy just doesn't have that in his locker.
Root out now as well.

You do not need to be a test quality batsman to know where your off stump is or how to leave a ball. Jummy Anderson has better stump awareness than many of our top order as did Jack Leach in his 92. Roys dismissal was as bad a waft/ poke as Jennings or Vince I am afraid.

Burns gets a life, dolly catch dropped at gully
Nice wasted review by Australia there.
