    Notlob (A) Buildup 21/4/18

Don't think we have one of these.

I was all for taking it easy and bringing a few young players in the starting XI, but then this popped up on my twitter feed and brought it all back

We play our best team and destroy them, do everything we can to score as many as possible and send them down.

Well we have sunk every other Hoodoo this season so I reckon we must be good for something here.

This will probably be the hardest of the last 3 games

Bolton still have something to fight for, Weds are safe & Sunderland will be gone before we get there

Still want a massive win - despite our superiority have not often put teams to the sword, happy if we do that on Saturday
This year we will mainly be conquering Europe

They're in shambolic form. One point from five games.

No need to go messing around with the team, I'll assume Cav isn't going to be fit so Jota can go back left and Afobe can perform our own "ex-player will DEFINITELY score" jinx on them.

    That hoodoo in full:

    2017/18: W 5-1 (H)
    2015/16: D 2-2 (H), L 1-2 (A)
    2014/15: W 1-0 (H), D 2-2 (A)
    2011/12: L 2-3 (H), D 1-1 (A)
    2010/11: L 2-3 (H), L 0-1 (A)
    2009/10: W 2-1 (H), L 0-1 (A)
    2003/4: L 1-2 (H), D 1-1 (A)
    2000/1: L 0-2 (H), L 1-2 (A)
    1999/0: W 1-0 (H), L 1-2 (A)
    1998/9: D 1-1 (H), D 1-1 (A), W 2-1 (A, FAC)
    1996/7: L 1-2 (H), L 0-3 (A)
    1994/5: W 3-1 (H), L 1-5 (A), W 2-1 (H, P/O), L 0-2 (A, P/O)
    1993/4: W 1-0 (H), W 3-1 (A)

Thinking about May 2000 and Kevin fucking Lynch still makes me angry. I should probably get therapy for that one day.

Nah, we were already as good as down. He was a nonsense that afternoon but ultimately it meant nothing. Lynch being a bent prick meant we didn't make the playoffs and they did.

We properly crushed them at our place. I have never ever seen Aiki so happy as trashing bolton 5-1.

One part of me thinks they would like to avenge that scoreline. Another part of me thinks if they try, we'll do better against them.

I'd rest Cav for the last 3 games. He was holding his hamstring, so wouldn't want to risk that. Let him recover properly. He's had a great season.

I definitely gave him a thought when I was looking around the ground at full time on Sunday.

I can't write down those thoughts on a family forum like this though.

    Would mean us finishing with a run of P12 W10 D1 L1.

Bottlers ay we. We always blow it, we're Wolves*

I know it's possibly in jest but I wouldn't have Danny Batth anywhere near the starting XI again although he probably will get another chance to show he isn't good enough anymore
Wolves have ambition and wit... why is it such a crime?

    "possibly" in jest?

Come on, mate! Although saying that, the team I posted would still have a decent chance of winning on Saturday.

EFL would probably punish us for that team, due to the amount of changes to the 11.

    Blame Huddersfield for that.

I relatively agree with this, and don't doubt the fringe players can still get us to over 100 points.

    Norris
    Miranda---Boly---Hause
    Ofosu-Ayeh---N'Diaye---MGW---Vinagre
    Costa---Mir---Jota

Subs: Ruddy, Doherty, Coady, Graham, Afobe, Neves, Bonitini

Why though, it isn't going to prove anything...

All of the teams we have left to play are rubbish, even if Norris/Phil/Ruben Jr have good games then so what. And we aren't getting them fit for anything.

Just play a normal team like a normal person would.

Oh, I was 100% messing around. I didn't actually think for a second someone would agree with me

Same team as last weekend but Afobe for Cav, if Cav is injured.

Looked up the rule regarding changes. Huddersfield rested everyone Inc the ball boys v Blues last season ahead of their play off games and lost. That pissed off Blackburn somewhat.

    So the rule is..

"For any league match played on or after the fourth Thursday in March, any team sheet for a league game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the league match before.”
The EFL added: “In the event any club breaches the threshold, they may be charged with a breach of Regulation 24 and the matter will be referred to a disciplinary commission.”

So a bit of flexibility but don't think we will make many changes between now and May 6th.

    Daft though isn't it.

Let's say we're buggering about in 14th/15th (just imagine, eh). Pick eight new players for the Bolton game. Pick eight further new players for Sheff Wed, retaining the first eight newbies as they're now fair game. Hey presto, we now have 16 nobodies in our matchday squad.

What is the difference between spreading it over two games as opposed to one?

Given how few senior games they have though, any competitive senior game time must be good for Vinagre and MGW? Maybe less so any others.

For that reason I'd play Vini for Douglas and MGW for Cav. Easily strong enough to win but some game time for those who could benefit from it. Personally I'd like to see Hause and Norris but obviously that is purely personal as I like them, won't really affect their development.
