Surprised anyone got more than 5 points after that lot. Game on

How does the scoring work, btw?

Points scoring will be as per the Premier League Prediction Contest (1 point for a correct result, 3 points for a correct result & scoreline and 3 points for correctly predicting the first goalscorer - Maximum points of 6 per fixture) As an added bonus you can predict the winner of the tournament before it starts and if you do so you will receive 10 points, 5 points for a losing finalist and 3 points for a losing semi-finalist. Results count only up to the end of normal time but the first goalscorer can be in extra time if played. The first penalty of a penalty shoot out will not count as the first goal scorer in a game.

Just to let you know that even if you think that there will be goalless draw you should still enter a first goalscorer. It gives you a chance of picking up 3 points if your prediction is wrong whereas no points are awarded for there being no goalscorer.

After the final round of group fixtures.

    Sniffer (Brazil) 73
    B3h (Brazil) 68
    Fred (Belgium) 67
    Trips (France) 63
    Donegal (Brazil) 62
    Quirk (France) 61
    Tony (Brazil) 59
    Jinky (Germany) 58
    Lemon (Brazil) 58
    SLA (Germany) 58
    JD (Brazi) 56
    Johnny (Brazil) 55
    Sedgley (Brazil) 54
    Machin (Germany) 53
    Glasgow (France) 50
    Bear (Brazil) 47
    Fizz (Germany) 46
    Darlo (Germany) 42
    Young Wolf (Brazil) 41

I managed to fluke another top score in this round and have regained top spot in the table. A long way to go yet however Darlo and Fizz, having selected Germany to be winners, may have a fight on their hands to stay off of the bottom!

Please check your scores and if (when!) you find any errors then feel free to let me know in this thread.

    After the Round of 16

    Fred (Belgium) 88
    Sniffer (Brazil) 82
    Quirk (France) 76
    Trips (France) 76
    B3h (Brazil) 74
    Donegal (Brazil) 74
    Tony (Brazil) 73
    Jinky (Germany) 71
    Lemon (Brazil) 67
    SLA (Germany) 67
    Glasgow (France) 63
    Johnny (Brazil) 63
    JD (Brazil) 62
    Bear (Brazil) 60
    Sedgley (Brazil) 59
    Fizz (Germany) 56
    Machin (Germany) 53
    Darlo (Germany) 47
    Young Wolf (Brazil) 43

A cracking round for Fred as not only did Sweden qualify for the Quarter finals, he top scored with 21 points and has moved to the top of the table. Key to the competition may well be his choice of Belgium to win the World Cup. If they beat Brazil he may well be home and dry but if they don't......

Young Wolf props up the table but with the ones closest to him having all selected Germany to win the World Cup he could yet avoid the wooden spoon.

As always, please check your scores and if (when!) you find any errors then feel free to let me know in this thread.

    After the Quarter Finals

    Fred (Belgium) 89
    Quirk (France) 83
    Sniffer (Brazil) 83
    Trips (France) 80
    B3h (Brazil) 78
    Donegal (Brazil) 77
    Tony (Brazil) 74
    Jinky (Germany) 73
    Lemon (Brazil) 69
    Glasgow (France) 68
    SLA (Germany) 68
    Johnny (Brazil) 64
    JD (Brazil) 62
    Bear (Brazil) 60
    Sedgley (Brazil) 60
    Fizz (Germany) 58
    Machin (Germany) 53
    Darlo (Germany) 49
    Young Wolf (Brazil) 46

A cracking round of fixtures for Quirk who top scored with 7 points. With France still in the World Cup, should they beat Belgium tonight he could well pip Fred to the title. Trips (France) isn't too far behind either!

As always, please check your scores and if (when!) you find any errors then feel free to let me know in this thread.

    After the Semi Finals

    Fred (Belgium) 92 (3)
    Quirk (France) 83 (5)
    Sniffer (Brazil) 83
    b3h (Brazil) 81
    Trips (France) 80 (5)
    Donegal (Brazil) 77
    Tony (Brazil) 74
    Jinky (Germany) 73
    SLA (Germany) 71
    Lemon (Brazil) 70
    Glasgow (France) 69 (5)
    Johnny (Brazil) 64
    Sedgley (Brazil) 64
    JD (Brazil) 62
    Bear (Brazil) 60
    Fizz (Germany) 58
    Machin (Germany) 53
    Young Wolf (Brazil) 52
    Darlo (Germany) 49

Young Wolf moves off the bottom of the table as he was the rounds top scorer with 6 points.

Only Fred, Quirk or Trips can win the competition with just the Final and Third Place play off left.

So if Fred doesn't predict the France result correctly and France wins I'm the champion.
