I quite like it, aside from the sponsor, but the days of Manders and/or Goodyear are long gone.

I like the bare sleeves - with all the sponsorship logos, sleeve trim would look too busy.
Socks before or after trousers, but never before pants. That's the rule.

I can’t afford it anyway at the moment, so I will be sticking to last years unless finances drastically improve.

The sponsor looks like it's an iron on transfer rather than plastic, and would come off with a bit of ironing and possibly the coconut oil method.

Apart from the sponsor, I can't see what there is to hate about it. It's a pretty plain design. It could have been a lot worse.

You'll all love it when the players are wearing it with the Europa League trophy in their hands...

It's not as good as last year's but it's still a decent shirt. Looks much better in the close up photos. It wouldn't be a kit launch without a nice sprinkling of hyperbole.

I don't think any shirt could make that sponsor look good but it's much better than a red and blue SportingBet logo.

I might buy it but I'll wait to see what the away shirt looks like before deciding.

Need to see it in the flesh but for me the colour change is a big mis-step. I don’t think I like it very much sadly

    It's not changed colour.

Look closely, it's the same colour underneath but with a darker pattern.

It's probably because of what I do for a living but:

The V-neck collar with a black band around it to separate the shirt from the wearer but this appears nowhere else on the top (sleeves or bottom)
The collar is a different colour to the rest of the strip and again this doesn't appear on the sleeves or bottom of the strip
The Adidas stripes down the side are from the armpit to the shorts, which then do not carry on the design but merely stop making the shirt and shorts look like they don't match
The pattern of the top makes the colour wash in and out like a terrible tie-dye effort
The badge, sponsor and manufacturers logo are all in the top third of the shirt making the open space of the bottom look strange and empty whereas the top and sleeves look too busy

Other than that I agree with you, it could have been worse.

It's a change of colour, look at the collar and badge and compare to the back of the strip.

I might have done a Lescott and accidentally pre-ordered one whilst my phone was in my pocket.

The close up photo on the online shop is very smart.

    I like it. Upgrading to a 7.5 on 10.

Bloody hell, you're a fussy fucker

IMO it's still better than any of the Puma or Burrda kits we had recently. Last year's top was one of the best we've ever had though. Shame we couldn't have just kept it for another season.

In reply to your comment about the stripes not carrying on down the shorts - I presume that is what is supposed to happen with this particular template but it would mean having the same shorts as last season and god forbid that could happen and we sold less shorts (does anyone apart from kids actually buy the shorts anyway?)

[grumpy old fucker] Oh and £55 is bloody expensive. Football top prices are ridiculous. [/grumpy old fucker]

If the pattern makes the colour look different is doesn’t really matter if the base colour is right. Fuck off the pattern. I’m actually a little disappointed by it. Finances say I can’t buy it anyway but I see little incentive to forego food to try and afford one.

You mean there is no "3 stripes" down the side of the shorts to carry it on?
If not, those 3 stripes down the side are a stupid design,it will look like we have borrowed some shorts.

Home kit rankings 2003-present (can't be bothered to go back any further):

    2018/19 - W88. Tremendous. Even with a betting sponsor.
    2013/14 - Whathouse (League 1)
    2015/16 - Silverbug
2008/09 - Classic Chaucer - Championship winning shirt
    2019/20 - New kit
    2014/15 - black sleeves Whathouse
2006-08 - early McCarthy era Chaucer
2017/18 - first Nuno home kit - appalling sponsor, nice shirt but I can't place it any higher
2004-06 - first Chaucer - tainted by Hoddle era
2009/10 - First SportingBet - awful sponsor but shirt was good quality
    2010/11 - 2nd SportingBet
    2002-04 - fucking Doritos
2016/17 - first Money Shop monstrosity - was never keen on this one and it reminds me of Paul Gladon
2011/12 - starting on the dregs now - awful relegation Roger Johnson Turrda shirt
2012/13 - The Saunders Shirt. A kit launched with a logo sewn on upside down, made of terrible quality material, a rubbish fit, a collar made of j-cloth, a shite sponsor - the only redeeming quality was that the sponsor peeled off easily. I was bought this shirt and it now sits in a cardboard box with the other old cloths I use for dusting

Being better than the Burrda kits is not a high bar. I need to see it in the flesh like I say but it’s a no from me at the moment

    Ace game!

2018/19 - W88/Adidas. Lovely colour. Lovely design. We look awesome wearing Adidas and the sponsor looked really good.
2008/09 - Championship winning shirt. Makes me think of Kightly back when I loved him.
2019/20 - New Kit. It has a few faults but it still looks pretty ace as it is Adidas.
    2015/16 - Silverbug.
2009/10 - Sportingbet/Le Coq Sportif. Sponsor a bit dodgy but good design.
2013/14 - Nice and simple. Decent sponsor.
2017/18 - Awful sponsor but bonus points for being unveiled by Neves.
2006-08 - First kit for the McCarthy era
2004-06 - Makes me think of Hoddle, Seol & Anderton. Decent enough kit though.
2016/17 - Awful stripes. Awful sponsor.
2002-04 - Would have been ok without Doritos on it.
2010/11 - Burrda kit. Weird fit.
2014/15 - The black sleeves were just wrong.
2011/12 - Burrda kit with those weird lines. Looked rubbish.
2012/13 - Reminds me of Roger Johnson, Dean Saunders & relegation. Utter shite.
