The "Oh my God this car is shit", "no it's not!" Thread

So the Merc range, lovely lookers, aren't they?
Wolves have ambition and wit... why is it such a crime?

Nope, mercs have seriously lost all the cachet they had years ago,due to the amount of track suited chavvy scum/wannabe drug dealers tooling about in the A series, fairly certain A series have Renault engines as well.
Even the vans are terrible I've got a 12 month old sprinter minibus for work and it's rusting on the sliding passenger door inner post due to crap paint,22mpg is poor as well

I love my C-Class. They are great cars and look lovely. I can't see myself ever driving a different brand (bar a huge lottery win giving me a hyper-car and even then I would still have a couple of Mercs in the garage)
    I'm looking California

    I'm feeling Minnesota

I like my Adam, hell of a downgrade from some of the car’s I’ve had but it’s so much cheaper to run and use. Our combo radio van is decent as well

Wife has a C class and if anything on a journey its too comfy ! A couple of lads at work have the C class hybrids which are nice but if it had been 50 odd grand of your own money you'd be a bit underwhelmed

Got a works Merc and it's a bit of a land yacht. I wouldn't call it ugly, though. Much prefer my 208 Peugeot for parking!

Best car I've ever owned for reliability was a Y Reg Astra. Had it until 2007 and only ever needed a new coil pack and wiper motor.

Saab were lovely cars, but you need to look at General motors for having a hand in their demise

Never owned a Mercedes. My luxury car of choice through the 90s and into the 00s was jaguar. I had s types Xj6s and a Daimler double six. A couple of 3 and 5 series BMWs during that time too. Since then I realised cars are money pits and have tried to stick with them longer. I currently have a meriva that does the trick and have just bought a Peugeot partner van as a back up general purpose runaround as the current little runaround needs a bit too much work for MOT.

Ideally now I want a camper for some nights away.
Remember, remember we are doing OK this November .

GM didn't help things, of course, but SAAB went under precisely because the cars were so lovely. I don't know if they turned a profit at any point after the 900 Turbo.

Not sure if they ever really turned a profit, before they were separated the scania truck side and the planes were probably keeping them afloat

Used to have a Jag XF, now have a Skoda Octavia - can’t recommend the Octavia enough - inexpensive, good enough, huge boot.

I see your Octavia and raise you a Citroen C4 Picasso.....

Only 5 seater car with 3 iso-fix points across the back. Now THAT is a family vehicle!
Socks before or after trousers, but never before pants. That's the rule.
