He signed four days after but you're right insomuch we'd been pursuing him throughout that summer.

Yep, alot of Wolves fans can't reconcile that nobody debates it's awful he was so ill and robbed of his remaining career but you can still objectively discuss his ability as a footballer, so kind of rewrite history with misty eyes. If you tweeted this as OW, yikes you'd get pelters as if you glanced at Liverpool

You've got to know your audience

When he first came through he looked a bit like a budget Murray in that he'd try to claim absolutely everything (to the point of carrying the ball out of his area more than once). However that image seemed to last forever despite the fact that after his first spell in his team, he was constantly glued to his line.

We've had far worse keepers in my time (Lange, Hansbury, Beasant, Segers, Lonergan etc) but as first choice he really wasn't great.

Ken tried to replace him for a reason in 2015. Indeed he only got back in because Emi's hamstring went vs Burnley, then by the time he was fit again it was apparent that we weren't in a position to be paying Arsenal to keep him (and we were going nowhere), so no point in playing him.

It’s weird, he was always fantastic for Nigeria. Clearly wouldn’t be with us now though.

Ikeme to Ruddy was an absolutely massive step up and I think we'd have done that regardless.

We might never have signed England's Will Norris though.
