Wolves all time XI - One player per country

Name an all time Wolves XI where each player has a different nationality.

Without much thought and Traoré not to declare for Spain.

    Hanneman
    Doherty Boly Munro Wright Jonny
    Neves Saiss
    Camara Jimenez Traoré

    Hennessey
Jackie Mac - Bjorklund - Boly - Jonny
    Peszko - Moutinho - Milijas - Dennison
    Bull - Flo

That was a lot of effort just so I could get Bully in.

Im assuming you've picked Bjorkland on the basis of being Swedish not on his half a dozen appearances for us ?

I would say that Eddie's three league titles might put him ever so slightly ahead.

So pleased to see Saiss in there sir. A massively underrated player.

Probably only in there due to the 1 player per country rule - keep trying to do a team them realise I've got 2 from the same country.

Why would you pick Hennesey over Murray otherwise apart from the fact that you couldn't then pick Bull.
This year we will mainly be conquering Europe

I would have to go 3-4-3 to have a front line of

    Keane - Bull - Jimenez

I KNOW it's not ideal but imagine the GOALS.

Moutinho has to be the Portugeezer (sorry various Rubens and Diogos)

I'm definitely having Boly in the backline as the French entrant. Johnny can be left back as Spanish and Adama as right back under the Mali flag is tempting.

Hennessey or Hahnemann have to be the keeper to keep the nationalities correct.

So I need a centre back or two, and a midfielder. I will go Dendoncker in centre mid (with reserving a right to change that if I can think of a better alternate) and Saiss and De Wolf.

Hahnemann (sorry Wayne - I loved you but you became a bit of a twat)

    --Boly------De Wolf----Saiss

    Traore-------------------------Johnny

    ----------Moutinho---Dendoncker

    ---Jimenez-----Bull------Keane

    Adama is Spanish, man.

He's as Malian as Andy Townsend is Irish.

I'll have Jackie Mac over there then as I don't see another Scot in my line up.

Obviously this is a combination of what I've seen and what I assume must be true about past players I couldn't see (listing their nationality is more for my benefit than expecting anyone not to know)...

    Rui Patricio (Portugal)
George Berry (Wales) - Frank Munro (Scotland) - Willy Boly (France)
Matt Doherty (Ireland) - Les Wilson (Canada) - Romain Saiss (Morocco) - Bill Slater (England)
Adama Traore (Spain) - Raul Jiminez (Mexico) - Bakary Sako (Mali)

I admittedly know almost nothing about Wilson in terms of his quality, but his impact on professional soccer here in North America is hard to understate.

As I remember, Les Wilson was a utility player who either played at right-back or in midfield. He was disciplined but not the world's most exciting player. He competed for right back with Jerry Taylor and played a good few games. The change of him getting picked once we'd splashed out £80,000 on Derek Parkin was pretty slim. I think he only played in midfield after Parkin's arrival.

One of his most memorable games was man marking George Best in a famous 1-0 home defeat. It must have been one of the first times an English team had employed such a tactic as there was an article about it in the next day's Sunday Times.

Based only on players I've seen in person.

    GK: Hahnemann
    RB: Muscat
    CB: Boly
    CB: Lescott
    CB: Saiss
    LB: Ward
    CM: N'Diyae
    CM: Moutinho
    FW: Sako
    ST: Jiminez
    FW: Traore

I'd fancy that team to stay up.

Remember him as a left back rather than right, but you are correct, he didn't get much of a look in after we signed Parkin

Evan Williams - definitely Scottish, despite the Welsh name. One of the few Wolves players I have met personally. Signed from Celtic, played late 60s/early 70s, though I don't remember being a regular at any point.

Oh just Googled 13 appearances in 3 years no wonder it didn't ring a bell( the last year '69 on loan at Villa) It were going to be this vague why not pick big Shaka with his one guest appearance there's Trinidad covered
