Kind of expected it, keep it tight for an hour and hopefully be 1-0 up and bring Neto and Traore on to terrify them for half an hour.

Villa dropped McGinn and theoretically playing with 2 forwards. Anyones guess on the formation mine would be 433 with Samatta on the right and Grealish on the left. Could be a Watford last season 4222 I suppose

No less confident in the win, but from an entertainment pov I'm gutted we've not gone 343. It'd be really nice to give someone a bollocking

I hope I'm not tempting fate here, but I really fancy us to take these apart.

4-3-1-2 with Grealish roaming behind Davies and Samatta

Matt Targett is going to be shitting it about our first substitutions.

That means their full backs provide the width which plays into our hands on the counter

No obvious width so I reckon they're going to pack the midfield to try to stop us playing. With two up top and Grealish somewhere I think they'll be pressing high and hard too.

The longer this game goes on the more advantages we get.

    Tim -

A few websites are listing Terry Taylor on the bench instead of Traore. I can see the similarities but that's a malicious mistake ignore it.

Britney saying Taylor on the bench is an error.

Yep. Like a few other people I'd like to go 343 from an entertainment POV, but I'll take 1-0
Prediction 24th January: 14 games to go: 6 wins, 5 draws, 3 defeats - final points 57 when the league finishes in May 2023...

I'll say it again "I'll accept annihilation, if there is also some humiliation thrown in I wont be upset "
Why they will qualify: Nuno Espirito Santo is actually a tactical genius.

I don't think so at all - Villa are the league's worst offenders for losing after taking the lead and conceded 59 goals.

I'm not saying we'll smash them but even if they take the lead it's not the end of the world.

Seeing their team (this doesn’t mean it’s anything to fear) has made me think this is the right team. It’s either a diamond or 433 so we will be able to protect the middle of the pitch better.

Can see then targeting Coady in the air so Saiss and Boly will be really important as usual

Think they're going 442 diamond, so would agree 352 from Wolves seems the safer bet to compete to begin with, shouldn't miss the wide forwards too much as wing backs will take advantage of their narrow midfield and more numbers in the middle to match them there.

Neves v Grealish will be interesting, if Villa have a lot of possession then Neves is perhaps going to have to man mark him at times to keep Coady spare whilst the other two centre halves pick up men, if Wolves get on the ball more then I expect Grealish to shirk a lot of his defensive responsibility.
