Where was the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth shattering kaboom!
Ah man, I've just read that Janet Weiss has left Sleater-Kinney saying that the band is heading in a new direction and it's time for her to move on.
She is such an awesome drummer and was an integral part of the band. I'd probably have rather they had called it quits than move on in a new direction without her. It doesn't bode well for what the new album might sound like either but we'll see.
They're quite under-rated imo. Their musicianship is brilliant. Saw them a few years ago at the civic and they blew the roof off. Halfway through they announced they'd be playing 5 top 5 singles in a row, and I was convinced they'd played all their hits, but as usual was wrong and they belted out 5 top 5 singles.
They're superb live (always a fan of embarrassment, and wings of a dove). Have toyed with seeing them after the races at wolverhampton in august. James did an after races show at worcester a few years ago, and newmarket last year.
Kenny has a superb madness christmas jumper.

I recommend going to their House of Common gig on Clapham Common. A fantastic day, although it was really warm the one I went to . So a day sitting in the Sun drinking Gladness Lager listening to various Ska/Reggae acts, Lister from Red Dwarf doing his DJ Set and then Madness.
More great work from Bands FC this would be an awesome tshirt.

For anyone interested, Tool's complete back catalogue released onto music streaming services for the first time today.
lol, i'd agree that the lyrics probably took about 1 second. as a result, it's not really a 'song' but then again one of the beauties of music is that it's all about opinions and one's ear
you can't trust the published critics, but for example

posted on a wrong thread:
at home have been checking out some stuff I've never really listened to. Been loving The Streets debut album - much better than I thought it would be. Also, never been big into the Manics, but have enjoyed their debut, as well as their greatest hits package quite a bit recently. Intending to give Asian Dub Foundation a listen soon too (saw them as a support band and they were pretty good live).
The last couple of days have been checking out submotion orchestra on spotify. really enjoying them!

That's pretty fucking good.
I'm looking California
I'm feeling Minnesota
I hear a ruler then incy wincy spider...
Things I've been listening to and enjoying recently:
Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man - superb album
Groove Armada - 10 years - enjoying this a lot. Like the uptempo/downtempo discs at different times.
Mogwai - central belters - it's the 'gwai. Nuff said.
Sigur Ros - absolutely anything by these, just so good. They emailed a "piano" playlist not so long ago, and can't stop listening to it. Great way to spend 2 hours.
