I've always enjoyed Jimmy Carr on TV shows so I watched one of his specials the other day. Not that funny.

It could very well be that the particular special I watched wasn't very good. I'd be willing to watch another, but I just wasn't impressed with what I saw. Much funnier in a group where he can play off the situation.

Jimmy Carr is great live. Seen him the past three times he's played the Civic. Like above I need payday before I start buying more tickets.

Did anyone see Micky Flanagan on the Graham Norton show on Friday?

He told a great one whilst sat next to Kelly Rowland about how Americans call an arse an ass and how cockneys call a house an awss. It got him into trouble when he walked a girl home and he asked if he could come in her a..

Frankie Boyle lost it imo. I went to his last tour (it was supposed to be his final stand up tour, which he toured 3 times). Yeah, there was stuff I did laugh at, but I'm not convinced I'll clamour to get a ticket this time.

First attempt got Row B, thought I would refresh and try and get Row A but then I got a message saying high volume try again later, thought I blown my chances as they kept giving me Row O tickets after that... Anyone going to Stephen Merchant tomorrow night?

I've got high hopes. I think he'll be hilarious.

Merchant was ace. Very funny, and it's easy to see his influence on the comedy writing partnership he has with Gervais.
Mostly self-deprecating style of comedy about his height and awkwardness and trouble finding women. A very funny routine about watching porn on VHS! Very funny. Worth seeing if you can grab a copy of the DVD.

The support act was also good. A guy called Josh Widdicombe. I think I recognise him from Mock the Week et al. His comparison of Argos Extra to a game of Battleships was spot on!
