Stuart Attwell becomes the first referee to explain a VAR decision to the crowd via the PA system. Starting by blowing his whistle down the mic and deafening the crowd.

It was shite too. Instead of taking two seconds to blow his whistle and raise his arm for offside, it took 10s to explain what was obviously going on.

I’m assuming the reason there’s 3 FA cup ties tonight is due to geographical clash ie Everton and Liverpool not being at home on the same day? None catch the imagination apart from posh going to Everton, TV companies have chosen Liverpool v Accrington and city v Salford.
Get the romance of the cup stuff but I’m pretty sure these games will be dead in the water after 30 minutes.

The official reason is that games being spread out enables them to be given more focus- 2 of tonight's are legally being streamed on the BBC. It's why you get bullshit like our game being a 12pm kick off, only 4 games in that window so the nation will be gripped, even though it isn't on tv

Yep choosing City v Salford and Liverpool v Accrington was never going to be games that were close both effectively over within 30 minutes.
Broadcasters got their wish and have been able to show Liverpool, Man Utd, Spurs, City & Arsenal this weekend.

Oh I get why they showed it, but just think they missed a massive opportunity to show a match with a chance of an upset, a tight nervy match for the higher placed team, throwing everything at the opposition in the final 10 minutes to get a draw/win. What happened to the romance?

I will always be of the opinion if you are L2 or lower and get a draw against a PL team they should get on TV. Money wise it's well deserved.
Obviously the majority of the time the outcome will be a heavy defeat but every now and again, a little miracle can happen.

Popping Salford on is an easy go to as well as it's G-Nev and co. Along with Wrexham at the moment they will get on regardless who they play.
