Acceptable though not really 'off the seat stuff'

Playing against 10 is not often easy as they had a draw & wasted as much time as they could to preserve that.

Villa lost so all in all a reasonable day

Bit short on quality with the final ball today. Decent point against a team who looked to make it scrappy and could have nicked all three. Back it up with a win on Wednesday and it's yet another good week.

Didn't play very well first half, gave the ball away tonnes. Douglas a repeat offender. Shame we couldn't find the winner but on to the next as Nuno will say

Just a very average day at the office. Not awful, not great, not one to remember. No bookings, at least. Neves my MOTM.

Another point in one a tough away game no ground lost on third and another game gone.

Draw away, win at home, go to the Premier League

Given the way Preston 'played football' it wasn't a bad result. We couldn't get into our stride and the ref was fucking abysmal.

Still 11 pts clear of 2nd, and 13pts clear of 3rd, with 14 matches left.

Surprised that so many of our fans were seemingly unaware of how Preston play, esp. as they were so physical at our place.
The pity of it is, the standard of refereeing would have been too poor for the Sunday League.

...and as I said on the match thread, Afobe was poor again.

Good point to add to our tally, Neves, Cav & Costa the stand out performers for me but Cav took things up a gear 2nd half and gets my MOTM, the turn for the goal was beautiful. Preston pretty much played the same as they did at our place, could well have been more yellows for them the ref was quite lenient.

I thought the timing of the subs was wrong today and I wouldn't have brought Saiss on over MGW considering we had the extra man.

Have a look on the Preston forum, they really think the ref gave us everything and we are a bunch of diving foreign cunts lol.......I guess hacking people down when they have been beaten is ok up north?? Loads the ref let go, tug backs, trips etc....could easily have been more cards for them.

Oh well we won't have to play them again like ever.

a point in a tough away game from a goal down so reasonably happy with that. given the sending off we had a good chance for 3 but the derby and villa results this week make it an even better point. getting tougher for them to get to 92!

Fuck.me how bad was that Ref.
Doherty knocked the ball past the full back who cleaned him out no foul
Costa grabbed round the neck, ref put his whistle to his mouth, then waves advantage fuck me you cunt its not advantage when Preston have the fucking ball.
Not the most fluent i have seen tough game we battled well sort of gamez champions get something out of

Afobe linked the play well, made some good runs in behind but for some good keeping, could have had the winner. Whilst I would not start him thought he played well when he came in

For a man who refuses to watch illegal streams because they work for Sky, you seem to be very well versed in the game.

I disagree that he played well, but you're entitled to your opinion mate.

Required PPG for 92 points

Wolves 1.43 ppg
Cardiff 2.21 ppg
Aston Villa 2.36 ppg
Derby 2.43 ppg
Fulham 2.64 ppg

1.43 ppg is pretty much bang-on what the teams in 11th-13th have at the moment.

Jota was equally as guilty many times as well.

I thought Afobe did OK but was certainly no improvement on what we had before his introduction. The problem is at that point they have 10 men and are far less open than they were with 11 men.

He worked hard moved around and linked play reasonably well and made one nice run and shot that the keeper smothered well.

He will need to do a lot more to break into the starting 11 but wasn't poor IMO.

Afobe is a useful addition, but not a starter, for the 17 games he will be here

Unlikely to be kept on, but may help us get there. Once we are there we are shopping in a different emporium to where he will be located

I didn't think anyone played badly but it was a pretty average performance all round. Cav and Costa played well although the latter should probably have scored in the first half. The referee was bizarre, gave Preston a free kick for every 50/50 challenge our players won yet ignored numerous similar or worse ones committed by Preston. At least he got the sending off right. We aren't a team that can put loads of crosses in when pushing for a goal so with everyone behind the ball it gets difficult and the final ball has to be perfect or someone needs to stick in the top corner from 20+ yards. Neves almost did the latter a few times and Afobe got put through with a nice ball and maybe if he'd scuffed it low it goes under the keeper. Overall I didn't feel like we did enough to win but a point closer to promotion and no ground lost to 3rd place so all good.
