Neves in and I suppose that's it. I was favouring dropping Bennett after Bolton, but he was very good last night so he can stay in. Easy, this picking a team lark.

2011/12: W 2-1 (H), D 0-0 (A)
2010/11: W 3-2 (H), W 3-1 (A)
2009/10: W 2-1 (H), L 2-5 (A)
2006/7: D 1-1 (H), L 1-2 (A)
2004/5: D 1-1 (H), L 1-3 (A)
1998/9: D 1-1 (H), L 1-2 (A)
1997/8: L 0-1 (H), D 1-1 (A)
1995/6: W 3-0 (H), L 0-2 (A)
1994/5: W 1-0 (H), D 1-1 (A)

Yup, Neves for N'Diaye. Simple.
I'd be half tempted to play Vinagre in games like this, where I doubt we'll do too much defending. But Douglas has been good so more a passing thought than a suggestion.

Yeah, Neves for N'Diaye the only change for me. Agree about Bennett.

Gutted I can't make this one. But the game at Hillsborough is on the box and the better half has agreed to accompany me to the Ipswich game so not too long to wait for my next Wolves fix!

This will be my first trip to Molineux for quite a while. I think my last game seeing them at home and not on TV was when we beat Rotherham 6-4 in league one! A repeat of the 6 goals for us would be nice...

I've been to all 9 of those home games and several of the away games so I too am gutted that I'm missing this one. Family pride is at stake!

As above, Neves in for N'Diaye is all we need to do here.

Agree with the above regarding the team, that is presuming that Jota still has two legs...

Anyone know how Saiss is getting on? Is he injured?

Freebie for My Wolves members. Should be rammo.

Frank do you think the tackle by Roberts on Jota should have been a red?. I thought that the intent was there to take Jota out of the game. It was disgraceful tackle.

See the referee question thread in other sport sub-forum ;)

If there are no injuries, then I agree that the only change should be Neves in for N'Diaye.

I think Nuno will have 'had a word' after the 2nd half performance against Birmingham, so hang on to your hat on Saturday if he gets the reaction he wants. Sunderland have already given up 38 goals so hopefully we can take advantage.

Hoping for a good performance for our second visit to Molineux of the season

Neves back as we missed his control on Monday - N'Daiye didn't do enough at all to encourage Nuno to pick him ahead of Reuben or Saiss

No other change really needed, though if Nuno decided to bring Batth or Miranda back for Bennett or Vinagre for Douglas wouldn't fuss unduly. Sunderland don't have enough to worry us unduly unless we all switch off for the afternoon.

Could vinagre work at RWB? I know there is no need to put a square peg in a round hole - just an idle thought.

If doc did get injured I think ndaiye would have to fill in. I can't see anyone else in that position (Nuno just don't fancy Marshall there)

Really not sure that N'Daiye would fit there - no idea whether either of Vinagre or Douglas could play the other side if they had too. They would at least have the benefit of understanding what the wing back position required

I've mentioned it before, managers will often shoehorn any old shithouse right back at left back in an emergency, and they'll routinely lamp tugboat centre halves at right back so long as they have a right foot, but you very, very, very rarely see left backs shifted over to the other side.

We'd probably go with Bennett on a very short term basis if we had to, we'd obviously have nothing going forward if we did that. MGW is a possible candidate if it were a longer term vacancy - has the pace, young enough to learn, can tackle, bags of end product, has played plenty of football out wide; obviously I think he's a central midfielder really, but he isn't getting a game there any time soon.

Didn't Ronan have a spell at rwb against City?

No, he played as one of the inside forwards at City. Came on for extra time vs Bristol Rovers at RWB. We won't be repeating that again, it didn't work.

Agree Bennett would give the defensive bit but not the attacking - MGW would be an intriguing option out there. He's young enough to learn & probably has the confidence at the moment to give it a go
