Pretty excited for this, haven't been to Molineux since the Sunderland game and it's a chance to see a few of our fringe players test themselves against Premier League opposition.

Norris

Miranda Coady Hause

Buur-Rasmussen N'Daiye Gibbs-White Vinagre

Costa Enobakhare Cavaleiro

We might have made few signings before Saturday as well, might be our first chance to see someone like Joao Carvalho, Rafa Mir, Daniel Opare or Kasey Palmer in action.

Any updates on German Phil? Nuno has played Bennett at RWB a few times in the absence of a proper back up right back but ideally we'd want to be resting him after a busy Xmas period.

Any updates on German Phil? .

Last update was he was getting pain in his ankle the moment he stepped up his training. Doubt we will see him this season.

Hopeful, but this is my team:

Deslandes is off to play for Kenny J

That Buur cannot play! Out of his depth against a L2 team

Certainly highlights the one weakness of this squad - which is strength & depth in the RB position. Could MGW do a job there?

Mick McCarthy has a lot to answer for given that this phrase is still one of your favourites! :)

Costa Enobakhare Zyro/Mir

Unsure who should play on the right. Would have definitely played Ronan if he doesn't go away on loan.

Price RWB? There are few genuine options, he may be one of the better ones.

There is also Marshall, who may come in from the cold, although Nuno hasn't played him there at all this season, so seems unlikely.

Sure I have read somewhere that Ronan is off to Pompey on loan as well

Edit: read it another thread. Duh...

N’Diaye will play CM I imagine. He might play him and Price in CM and shunt MGW out to RWB.

Buur was very much thrown in at the deep end last time having not been with us long, he may well have developed since then a bit. Otherwise its someone playing out of position or a new signing, which looks unlikely in time for the weekend.

Am coming up for this (& staying over this time as got offered a stupid price in the Premier Inn) - good to meet up again

Your team is fine though not sure about Buur-Rasmussen - not aware of how he has been getting on the in U23s.

Alternative would be to move MGW there (think that its a role he could play) & slot Price into the midfield 2

I don't see MGW playing in a wide right role at all. He'd be perfect in the Cav role for this game. Bit experimental but I would go:

Norris

Miranda Coady Hause

Doherty Goncalves N'Daiye Vinagre

Costa Bright MGW

I'd play Doherty. He didn't look to be tired last night despite the ground he covered during the match.

We don't have a fit alternative to him at the moment, so no point trying to shoehorn in someone at RWB who can't play RWB. Unless we sign someone before Saturday who can play RWB.

Just shows that the one area we lack cover for is RWB - Doherty would play if asked to, but has played virtually every game & wouldn't hurt to have a rest though if he does we are trying to put slightly less rounded people into round holes

Expect us to rectify this gap during the window

If we sign someone he would need to be announced today (tomorrow am at the latest) to be ready to slot straight in - a big part of our success is that everyone knows their role perfectly so slotting someone who has had limited time to do that in there is not sensible.

No problem with Doherty playing as for the next few weeks we are out of the Sat/Tues run & only have 1 game per week which will relieve pressure anyway

Can't wait for this game, don't care that it will be 2 second string sides, hoping for a good game as there isn't ad much pressure. Would love to see Lycans team although think it will probably be Doc at rwb
